An Inspirational Story

DON’T WE ALL
I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come
from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work.
Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would
consider a bum.
From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no
money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times
that you just don’t want to be bothered. This was one of those “don’t
want to be bothered times.”
“I hope he doesn’t ask me for any money,” I thought.
He didn’t.
He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn’t look
like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.
After a few minutes he spoke.
“That’s a very pretty car,” he said.
He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly
blond beard keep more than his face warm.
I said, “thanks,” and continued wiping off my car.
He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never
came.
As the silence between us widened something inside said, “ask him if
he needs any help.” I was sure that he would say “yes” but I held true
to the inner voice.
“Do you need any help?” I asked.
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget.
We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from
those of higher learning and accomplishments.

 I expected nothing but an
outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.
“Don’t we all?” he said.

I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum
in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge
shotgun.
Don’t we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I
needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus
fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those
three little words still ring true. No matter how much you have, no matter
how much you have accomplished, you need help too. No matter how little you
have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or
a place to sleep, you can give help.

Even if it’s just a compliment, you can give that.
You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all.
They are waiting on you to give them what they don’t have. A different
perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from
daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.
Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe
he was more than that.

Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and
wise, to minister to a soul too comfortable in themselves.

 Maybe God looked down, called an Angel, dressed him like a bum, then said, “go minister to that man cleaning the car, that man needs help.”
Don’t we all?

Never judge someone because of how they look because you don’t know what is in someone’s heart or mind.  We are more alike than we realize and at some point in time we all need help in one way or another.

Todd Coontz *Minister or Trickster?*

It is not often that I touch on the topic of so-called preachers who use the pulpit to con people out of their money.  Todd Coontz apparently has a group of followers whom he has managed to brain wash over the years.  The sole purpose of his broadcasts is to get money out of them by whatever means necessary.
Those of you who listen to his broadcasts and are still sending him money have you ever heard him talking about anyone receiving any of the miracles he preaches about except for himself?  I have never heard a testimony of anyone who has benefited from sowing these faith seeds except for Todd Coontz himself.  Food for thoughts don’t you think?
Every broadcast is skillfully designed to convince people to send him money.  Wake up people no one is receiving any of the miracles he is preaching about except him.  God is not telling him to tell you to send him money.  Why would God do that?  He is  not even preaching the words of God.  Every broadcast is about money and the blessings that he Todd Coontz has received.
“FedEx comes to my house weekly,” he says.  He says FedEx comes to his house so often he gets excited every time he sees a FedEx truck.  He says he not only receives through FedEx but UPS as well and that he has never had so much financial blessings before as he has had in the last twenty-four months.  I guess the number of people sending him money have increased significantly.
Why isn’t any of the people who are sending him their money receiving any of the FedEx or UPS deliveries?  If they are I don’t hear him talking about it.  According to his preaching he is the only one I hear receiving any of the financial blessing he is promising.  He wants people to send him money, that is the whole purpose of his broadcasts.  It is not about God!  It has never been about God!  It is all about money!  Every time you send him money he receives a miracle, he not you.  But then what does he care, he says his miracles are not for every one so I suppose if you have no money or credit card you won’t qualify for one anyway.
May the Lord open the eyes and ears of those who continue to allow themselves to be deceived!

Thought For Today: Always Make Time to Pray

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My duty toward God was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of God to friends,
They’d laugh at me I’d fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in His hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into His book and said
“Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down…
But never found the time”

Merry Christmas

My fellow bloggers and friends, today we celebrate Christmas in remembrance of the fact that God so loved the world that He sent his only begotten son.  Jesus came not to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

This Christmas let us take a special time out to comfort those who mourn, lend a helping hand to those in need and share what we have with those who are less fortunate.  May the joy of Christmas find its way into every home and may everyone be of good cheer.  A Happy and Peaceful Christmas to everyone!!

Life Isn’t Always Easy {Linda C. Grazulis}

Life isn’t always easy,
‘Oft we shed a tumbling tear or more,
Dreams can unexpectedly shatter
As we take a nosedive to the floor.

Heartaches can arrive in all their fury,
As our heads with worry start to throb;
But praise God for fervent prayer to lean on
As we bow our troubled souls and sob.

We were never promised a bed of roses
Strewn on our path below;
And trials are often heavy burdens –
A meadow full of dandelions and woe.

But please believe in a divine purpose
For every fiery lash
That sets our feet off balance
As our hopes set sail, but crash.

Oh, take heart weary pilgrims –
Look up to Heaven’s throne,
Dial the prayer line to the Master –
You need not bear such pain alone.

It isn’t always easy to trek this journey
‘Cause thorns sprout along the way.
Nevertheless, rosebuds are prone to blossom –
Weary pilgrim lean on God’s timing today.

Help From Above {Oran W. Donner}

If your day seems dull and dreary,
If your troubles get you down,
If you feel you are in deep water
And certain you will drown,
If you’re shackled by a burden
Held fast within its grip,
You wish you could be rescued
Your life’s a sinking ship;
Then it’s time to turn to Jesus
Who is reaching out to you
To take your hand to guide you,
Show you life anew.
Trust Jesus as your lifeline,
To still the storms you face,
He will take you to safe harbor
And provide a resting place.
He will be your friend and love you
No matter where you roam,
Then at your journey’s end
He will take you safely home.

God Can Do Anything {Loise P Fritz}

God takes the darkest midnight,
Turns it to morning bright,
He takes the darkest moment,
Transforms it into light.

He takes away the raindrops
And makes the rainbow shine;
He takes away our worries
And gives us peace of mind.

He takes away the teardrops,
Put smiles upon our face;
He sets aside the dark clouds
And grants us sunny days.

He takes away our sorrows,
Puts joy into our hearts.
Our gracious God uplifts us;
From us He’ll never depart.

THE DEVIL’S DISCIPLES

As the Bible tells us, in the last days the hearts of men will be desperately wicked.  Some have lost all sense of what is right and wrong.  Some seem to have sold their souls  to the devil.  They will do anything to rob the poor of the very little that they have.  Some of these people will even try to use the name of God to seek wealth.  They have no conscience.  They target the poor, the disillusioned, those who are desperate for hope and do not understand that they should put their trust in God and not in man.

They say a drowning man will catch at a straw.  When you are down and out and everything seem to come crashing down.  When nothing is going well in your life, you are desperate for hope  and someone says ” I can guarantee you an eight minute miracle”  you might be tempted to stop and listen.  When someone tells you plant a seed faith of two hundred five hundred or a thousand  dollars and you will see an instant turn around in your life you might be so desperate for a change in your life that you do as you  told without question.

No matter how desperate you are you need to ask yourself if this is how God operates.  He said ask and it shall be given, seek and he shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.  Where did it say you have to pay in cash first to receive these favors?  Some of them will tell you it is not for everyone, take a hint; the miracles they are promising are for only those who can afford to pay.

God wants us to give but not in the selfish manner that some of those who proclaim to teach in the name of the Lord want you to.  When you  feed the hungry, give to the poor, provide a home for the homeless  and clothes the naked you are doing these things to the glory of God and as such you will receive his blessings because you are doing it out of love not because you expect to get something in return.  Jesus said”‘ In so much as you do these things to the least of my brothers you do them unto me.”

These are the kind of seeds that God wants us to sow.     He wants us to give of ourselves unselfishly expecting nothing in return from those for whom we do these good deeds.  This is how we receive God’s blessings.  This is how we see the miracles in our lives.  No man on earth can guarantee you a miracle.  If miracles were for sale what would happen to the poor?

Have faith in God.  Trust in Him and believe that He will supply all your needs.  Help the less fortunate in whatever way you can.  God knows what is in the heart of every man.  Those who try to sell you miracles as disciples of the devil and not of God.  The Bible tells us that in the last days there will be false prophets.  Open your eyes and see, open your ears and hear.  Ask God for knowledge and understanding.  Put not your trust in man and their promises.  Trust only in God

God’s Love Comes With ‘NO CHARGE’!

Our airways these days are flooded with people who all proclaim to be preaching or teaching the words of God.   Many of these persons are truly genuine and the messages they deliver are filled with hope and inspiration.  They try to teach people to live according to God’s will.

There are others whose motives are questionable and it is not difficult to see who these people are.  Most of them start their broadcast by telling you to plant a seed faith then they go on to tell you how much money you should send and sometimes these sum seems quite exorbitant!

“Plant a seed faith of two hundred dollars and expect a miracle,  something wonderful will happen in your life!   Plant a recovery seed faith of two hundred and seventy three dollars and you will receive an instant miracle,  great changes will happen in your life.  Plant a seed faith of two hundred, five hundred or a thousand dollars whatever you can afford!   Apparently no thought is given to the person who can only afford five or ten dollars!

These false prophets will tell you that God tell them to ask for this seed faith, they will try and tell you to obey God’s will without question and most of their broadcast will focus on them telling you to send them money instead of bringing you much message on the word of God.  By their fruits you shall know them.  They will say “I know many of you are going through financial problems right now”  and in the next breath say “Put it on your bank card”

These people are not of God they don’t care about you all they want is your money and they are using the name of God in order to get it.   God’s Love comes with no charge.  Miracles come through faith and for that there is no charge.  When you pray to God and ask anything of him in faith and believing, he will answer your prayer and there is no charge!  You do not have to pay anyone to pray to God for you to receive a miracle in your life.  You can pray to him and ask him yourself and there is no charge.

Do not be fooled by people who uses promises of miracles to get your money or make you put yourself in debt to send it to them because they are not of God.  In fact they have no faith themselves because if they did they would know that God will supply all their needs.  If they were there to spread they gospel of God he would supply their finances to do so, there would be no need for them to be preying on vulnerable who are so desperate for hope that they would be willing to pay money to receive a miracle!

Jesus warned about these false prophets who would appear in the last days so do not be deceived.  Miracles cannot be bought and anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar and not of God!

Trust in the Lord By *Kay Hoffman*

     Perhaps you are feeling a bit down and need something to remind you that no matter what your problems are there is hope when you put your trust in God and believe in his words. I want to share with you this poem written by Kay Hoffman.  I hope it will uplift your spirit!

Trust in the Lord

Let not your heart be troubled,
Nor let it be afraid.
All things are possible with God
In this world He hath made.

For he who tends the lilies
And notes the sparrow’s fall
Will meet the needs of His children
When on His name they call.

As the seasons come and go
According to his will,
Thus a heart that’s filled with fear
Only God’s peace can still.

He knew us there before our birth
And held us in His care.
There are no problems in this life
That He’ll not help us bear.

O be ye not of little faith,
Trust in the Lord above –
He gave His Son to die for us…
There is no greater love.
