Thought For Today

“You can’t hang around waiting for somebody else to pull your strings. Destiny’s what you make of it. You have to face whatever life throws at you. And if it throws more than you’d like, more than you think you can handle? Well then you just have to find the heroism within yourself and play out the hand you’ve been dealt. The universe never sets a challenge that can’t be met. You just need to believe in yourself in order to find the strength to face it.”  ― Darren Shan

The Lovely Month of June {Nora M Bozeman}

Summer came to visit me
In the merry month of June;
She brought her warm and winsome days
And at night she lit up the moon.

Summer came to visit me,
Adorned in her Sunday best;
She wore a hat of sapphire blue
And her gown was daisy-dressed.

Summer came to visit me
And spread sunshine everywhere.
Emerald shoes were on her feet,
Spun-gold was in her hair.

Summer came to visit me,
Sweet songbirds trilled a tune;
And it’s all because God fashioned this –
The lovely month of June.

Words of Inspiration

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

Thought For Today

In life there is something call ‘free will’ it is the freedom which allows us to make choices.  To or not to do something is a choice that we make voluntarily without it being forced upon us.  You can choose to do something or you can choose not to do it, ultimately the choice is yours to make.  Never do something and then turn around and complain about doing it because it was your choice, you could have chosen not to do it!

A Lover’s Remorse

He drank in the sweet scent of her perfume,
And momentarily it chased away his gloom.
He was afraid to look into her eyes,
Afraid that he would not be able to accept the truth.

He had hurt you bad, there was no excuse,
He could tell her the other girl meant nothing,
But she would never understand.
He had betrayed her trust,
He had broken that sacred bond,
And she couldn’t see beyond that.

Yet he hopes she will forgive him,
This male egoistic part of him,
That felt it as okay to cheat with another woman.
Stolen waters may taste sweet at first,
but it leaves a bitter after taste.

Footprints in the Sand

Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord.  After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.  “Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You’d walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.” The Lord replied, “My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

The art of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mood of happiness, but in allowing happiness to

change its form without being disappointed by the change; for happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up.–
