I believe ordinary people can do extraordinary things. I believe that one person reaching out with a hand extended in kindness, can make a difference in someone else’s life. So do what you can and be a blessing to someone.
Limit the News You Watch
When was the last time you watched a news cast that left you feeling energized and motivated? I am almost certain that has not happened lately. At any given time of the day the news report is filled with more negatives than positives. Imagine filling your mind all day with that kind of negative energy. It could leave you feeling less energized, and even depressed. While it is important to stay informed watching less news might reduce your stress level.
Personal, I limit myself to half-an-hour of news most days, if at all. I usually tune in to “World News Tonight with David Muir. This half-an-hour segment keeps me informed on the things that I need to know. By the way this is not an endorsement of ABC. You can tune in to your favorite news channel. The point I am trying to make is keep informed without drowning yourself in all the negative news of the day.
Prayers for Afghanistan
My heart goes out to the people of Afghanistan, especially the women and children. I just don’t understand how this happened. The US was in the country for 20 years. Biden claimed they trained over 300 thousand Afghan soldiers and gave them state of the art millitary equipment, yet the moment they begin moving out the country collapsed. Is it that the Afghan soldiers are so afraid of the Talibans that they gave up without any form of resistance? Aren’t they all now at the mercy of the Talibans?
Do Your Part to Stop the Spread
How many of you thought we would have put COVID-19 behind us by now or at least have things under control. Instead of things getting back to normal, we seem to be taking a step in the wrong direction. This is a disease that is spread from person to person. If each person do his or her part in trying to stop the spread, it will. Get vaccinated, wear a mask. Let’s all do our part.
The wheels of life are continuously turning. Sometimes you are up, sometimes you are down. Whichever way it is you must hold on. As long as there is life there is hope.
Have Patience Don’t Give Up
Life can get frustration at times especially when your best thought out plan doesn’t work out. It may seem as if you are wasting time trying when nothing seems to work out. However, never give up hope. Persistency is what will help you achieve the success you desire. So keep trying even when you feel like giving up. One day you will be glad you did.
Each Day is a Blessing
A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset. When you wake up take a second to think about what a previlege it is to simply be alive and healthy. The moment you start acting like it is a blessing, I assure you that it will start to feel like one. (unknown)

One doesn’t know how much time is left
as the sands of life trickle through;
So, pack with care your case of life
And preserve the good and the true.
Place your laughter near the top
And bury sorrow down deep.
Put your worries and cares to one side
and good memories forever keep.
Place the wisdom and love above all,
Over everything else in the case.
They are the trophies won in the end

This poem is so meaningful, at a time when people across the world are still battling COVID. Like me many of you perhaps thought it would have been over by now. But the fight goes on. Stay safe my friends and hold on strong.

Form Good Habits
We all have habits. Some are good and some may be distructive vices. Bad habits are easily formed and are hard to get rid of. Take the person who starts smoking . A first it might just be an experiment, until it becomes a habit. And even then the person might say, “Oh it’s nothing. I can quit whenever I want to.” But the truth is, once that habit is formed, quitting is hard. Stay away from bad habits and form good ones instead. For example exercise regularly, read a book, take a few minutes each day to meditate. They more you practice doing these things the better your chance of making them daily habits. These are the habits that will do wonders for you.
