Indifference

The silence between them is profound
She yearns so much
 for a hug from him
 or just a gentle touch.
But he turns away and she feels frozen
 by the coldness he displays.
 Feelings of love unrequited
hits her like a mountain waves.
She would do anything
if this relationship she could save.

His phone rings, he answers it and smiles,
“I am going to meet Sam for a drink,” he says
But of course she knows he lies.
“I know about her,” she says.
He looks at her and there is no surprise in his eyes,
He offers no ostentatious words of denial.
Unperturbed by his betrayal
“Don’t wait up for me,” he says.
His words cut her like a knife
Her heart is bleeding
She feels like screaming
But she is numbed by his indifference
An apology, or even a denial,
Anything would have been better
than his cold indifference.

Dancing Feet

Daintily she dances, floating in the wind,
Twirling about on long slender legs,
Happy and carefree.
She is moving gracefully to the music,
There is laughter in her eyes,
At fifteen she is developing the body of a woman,
But she still has the innocence of a child.
Dance on my dear, dance on,
Enjoy your carefree years,
With adulthood comes responsibility,
There will be less time to dance,
But you will remember this moment,
And the other happy memories.

Memories of You

It’s been so many years since you went away,
The memories still lingers,
I think of you everyday,
I miss your smile and laughter,
I miss the good times that we shared,
The angels came so quickly,
There was no time to say goodbye,
Every time I think of this it brings tears to my eyes.
At times I feel your presence near me,
When I am in deep despair,
I can almost hear you saying,
“Don’t cry my dear I’m here,
I will never leave you,
So there is no need to say goodbye.
Enjoy your life, be happy this is what I wish for you.
I will be waiting on the other side to welcome you,
When the angels bring you home.

I Miss You

I count every minute of every single day
Time seems to have stood still since you went away,
I miss your smile, I miss your laughter,
I miss your gentle touch,
I miss making love with you,
Honey I miss you oh so much.
We talk on the phone but it’s not the same,
At night in my dreams I whisper your name,
I can’t wait till you are back home,
Here safe in my arms,
Until then I pray that God will protect you,
And keep you from all harm.

The Clock of Life

The clock of life is wound but once,

And no man has the power

to tell just when the hands will stop

At late or early hour.

Now is the only time you own

Live…Love…Toil, with a will.

Place no faith in Tomorrow,

The clock may then be still.

Cameleon

You seemed so sweet at the start,
Honey you captured my heart,
But now the veil is down,
I’m seeing your true colors,
And it’s causing me to frown.
I thought you were caring,
You do care, but only about you,
You scheme, you lie and you connive,
You do what it takes to get what you want,
Without giving what I want much of a thought.
I thought you were my dream come true,
But my worst fears is that you are turning into my nightmare.
I can’t go on living this lie,
Now that the blindfold has been removed from my eyes,
I thought you were a princess,
Now you seem more like a witch,

At what point in this relationship did you switch?
Divide and conquer seems to be your latest motto,
You think you have me trapped,
But honey I’ve got news for you,
Two can play this game and I don’t plan to lose,
The stakes are high, it’s you and I.
Maybe some day when you are all alone,
You will realize how foolish you were,
To destroy what we had with your dirty ways,
silly games and lies.

Need to be Sure

She lets her guards down and he captured her heart,
He said that he loved her, but he don’t always act the part
He is sending her mixed signals, playing with her heart
she is not certain his motives are pure
She has been hurt before so this time she need to be sure.
When he smiles at her she want to believe him,
When he kisses her it feels so right she wants to give in
She wraps her arms around  him and pray ,
That  he will stand by her and never stray.
Her heart is so afraid,
Will she regret these decisions she has made?

Sweet kisses in the moonlight,
His  arms holding her so tight,
She don’t want to let go,
She just want to know.
Does he really love her?
She has been hurt before
This time she needs to be sure.

Shattered

The lines have been crossed,
You said it was a mistake,
I say it’s your loss.
You had a choice to make,
You chose to throw this love away,
I could make mistakes too but I don’t,
because I love and respect you.
You say to forgive you,
I say it’s not that simple.
How many more mistakes will you make,
And how many more times will I have to forgive you?
The lines have been crossed,
Trust have gone out the window,
There is a hole in my heart that needs to be fixed,
A part of it has been broken,
And I wonder if it will ever mend.
A dream has been shattered,
Hopes went up in smokes,
Loyalty was important,
But for you it was just a joke.
The lines have been crossed,
And now where do we stand my friend?
When glass has been shattered,
It’s hard to put the pieces back together,
No matter how you try to mend it,
It will never be the same again.

Indecision

The years have passed by slowly but time has done little
to diminish the love she feels for him, undeserving though he is.
Unattended, gasping for water like a runner on a hot summer’s day,
So is her love, desperate for some attention from him.
Like a plant in the desert doing what it will to survive,
So is her love, weathering the storms, refusing to die.
Her heart had spoken, it said he was the one,
So she holds on to this dream refusing to believe,
that maybe her heart was wrong.

Her head tells her to give up and she is torn between the two,
Should she listen to what her heart is saying?
Or should her listen to her head?
Some higher force that she does not understand tells her,
that her heart is right.
Yet a little doubt persists and a small voice that she
cannot ignore whispers “What if your heart is wrong?”
She is left in a state of indecision, She has to choose
between the two.
Should she take the chance, go with her heart and pray her
head was wrong?
But what if she chooses and then finds out her head
was right all along?
The currents of love has caught her and left her stuck
on the boulder of indecision.
