Life Still Has Meaning
If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.
Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you’re looking forward to a new tomorrow.
If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.
Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.
So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,
If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

Autumn Reflections {Alice J. Christianson}
With early autumn come the days
I love the best of all,
When the sunlight gilds the landscape with
The mellow light of Fall.
October’s trees don leaves of gold,
Bright red and amber too;
No treasure chest could boast
Jewels of so rare a hue.
The harvest has been gathered in,
Vineyards their riches yield;
In little, sheltered garden, one
Last rose may be reveled.
I love to see the roadside stands
That offer up their treats…
Pumpkins and juicy apples, grapes,
And cider, sharp and sweet.
With Autumn comes Thanksgiving,
That special time when we,
In church and home gather to join
With friends and family,
To thank God for the blessings He
So graciously bestows:
May we never take for granted
The freedoms that we know.
Life Isn’t Always Easy {Linda C. Grazulis}
Life isn’t always easy,
‘Oft we shed a tumbling tear or more,
Dreams can unexpectedly shatter
As we take a nosedive to the floor.
Heartaches can arrive in all their fury,
As our heads with worry start to throb;
But praise God for fervent prayer to lean on
As we bow our troubled souls and sob.
We were never promised a bed of roses
Strewn on our path below;
And trials are often heavy burdens –
A meadow full of dandelions and woe.
But please believe in a divine purpose
For every fiery lash
That sets our feet off balance
As our hopes set sail, but crash.
Oh, take heart weary pilgrims –
Look up to Heaven’s throne,
Dial the prayer line to the Master –
You need not bear such pain alone.
It isn’t always easy to trek this journey
‘Cause thorns sprout along the way.
Nevertheless, rosebuds are prone to blossom –
Weary pilgrim lean on God’s timing today.
Help From Above {Oran W. Donner}
If your day seems dull and dreary,
If your troubles get you down,
If you feel you are in deep water
And certain you will drown,
If you’re shackled by a burden
Held fast within its grip,
You wish you could be rescued
Your life’s a sinking ship;
Then it’s time to turn to Jesus
Who is reaching out to you
To take your hand to guide you,
Show you life anew.
Trust Jesus as your lifeline,
To still the storms you face,
He will take you to safe harbor
And provide a resting place.
He will be your friend and love you
No matter where you roam,
Then at your journey’s end
He will take you safely home.
God Can Do Anything {Loise P Fritz}
God takes the darkest midnight,
Turns it to morning bright,
He takes the darkest moment,
Transforms it into light.
He takes away the raindrops
And makes the rainbow shine;
He takes away our worries
And gives us peace of mind.
He takes away the teardrops,
Put smiles upon our face;
He sets aside the dark clouds
And grants us sunny days.
He takes away our sorrows,
Puts joy into our hearts.
Our gracious God uplifts us;
From us He’ll never depart.
I Can go on
I can go on,
In spite of shattered dreams,
And broken promises,
I can go on,
I can go on,
When all seems lost,
And sorrow seems to,
Fragment my heart,
I can go on.
I can go on,
When pain seems to be
My best friend,
And joy threatens to subside,
I can go on.
I can forget,
The hurt of yesterday,
And embrace tomorrow,
Knowing that,
If I have love in my heart,
No matter what,
May come my way,
I can and will go on.
He Left Her For You
you are smiling, she is crying,
Five children, the baby just,
three months old,
How could you marry him,
knowing he was leaving her for you?
Yes I know he asked you to marry him,
but you could have said no,
You could have looked at the four children,
and the baby and tell him not to be heartless,
She stood outside the church crying,
her three-month old baby in her arms,
You walked past her smiling,
You were dressed in white,
but your heart was dark,
Don’t you not know that you reap,
what you sow?
Someday she will be the one smiling,
and you will be the one crying,
when he leaves you for another.
Love Don’t Live Here Anymore
Love don’t live here anymore,
It left a long time ago,
And all I had was shattered dreams,
And thoughts of what could have been,
You walked away without a backward glance,
I cried my tears, now my eyes are dry,
I am back on my feet,
I am getting ready to fly,
There is a knock on the door,
I wonder who it could be,
I looked and thought perhaps,
My eyes were fooling me,
But you were standing there,
With an apologetic smile,
Saying you were sorry you left,
Could I give you another chance,
There was a spring in my steps,
There was charm in my smile,
I said “honey when you left I changed the,
Locks on the door”
I said “Go find someone else,
Cause you’re not welcome here anymore!”
