God never promised that we wouldn’t have challenges. In fact, He said just the opposite. His word says, ‘Be truly glad!…these trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure…’ so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of His return.”

A Thought for Today
God knows your value; He sees your potential. You may not understand everything you are going through right now. But hold your head up high, knowing that God is in control and he has a great plan and purpose for your life. Your dreams may not have turned out exactly as you’d hoped, but the bible says that God’s ways are better and higher than our ways, even when everybody else rejects you, remember, God stands before you with His arms open wide. He always accepts you. He always confirms your value. God sees your two good moves! You are His prized possession. No matter what you go through in life, no matter how many disappointments you suffer, your value in God’s eyes always remains the same. You will always be the apple of His eye. He will never give up on you, so don’t give up on yourself.”

A Thought for Today
“Certainly, other people can pray for you, they can believe for you, they can quote the scripture to you, but you must exercise faith for yourself. If you are always depending on somebody else to keep you happy, somebody else to encourage you or to get you out of trouble, you will live in perpetual weakness and disappointment. You must make a decision that you are going to be a believer. Take charge of your life and decide, “No matter what comes against me, I believe in God. I’m going to have a positive outlook for my life! Other people’s faith can indeed bolster yours. But your own faith will bring you a miracle much faster than anybody else’s. What you believe has a much greater impact on your life than what anybody else believes.”

I Knelt to Pray

I knelt to pray but not for long, So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, All day long I had no time No time, no time, too much to do, God looked into his book and said Author unknown |
Thankful to be Alive
Life is a precious gift that we have to be thankful for everyday. When you leave your home in the morning there is no guarantee we are going to make it back home safe and yet we often take it for granted that we will.
On July eleven I went to the hospital to have a medical procedure done. I expected to have been back home in about three hours. However things went horribly wrong. I had a hole blown through my colon as soon as the procedure started. I was told I needed to do a CAT Scan to get more information on what had happened. It confirmed what the doctor suspected; there was a hole in my colon which was not supposed to be there.
I was then told that a team of surgeons were coming to speak with me. To make a long story short, I was told that they needed to operate immediately to repair the damage that had been done. The operation lasted three hours and went extremely well. In fact I was told by the surgical team that considering the severity of my injuries the operation went even better than they had anticipated. What they were even more amazed at was how quickly after the operation I began to heal. I was told every day that the speed at which I was recovering was amazing.
Thanks to God for his healing touch, I was released from hospital on July 20, after spending nine days there. I give thanks to God that the operation went well and that I began to heal quickly afterwards. I am not fully recovered yet but I am getting stronger every day and am just thankful to be alive.
Stop Abuse of Women
Let us cease women to be subdued or allow ourselves to be boxed in by a wall of silence. Let our voices be heard. Let the stories of rape and other atrocities against be told. Throughout the world women are being abused. The disparity in the treatment of the sexes is real. The heinous crimes of rapes, murders and other forms of abuse meted out to women are real. The killing of babies because they are girls is real.
In the beginning God created woman as a companion for man. He did this because He thought man was lonely and needed another human like himself to relate to. I am quite sure it was intended that man would take good care of that woman. The heart of some men seem to be desperately wicked. They have no concept of what it is like to care for a woman. They are emotionally barren, devoid of the ability to love her unconditionally.
It is from the womb of a woman that new life enters this world. For nine months she carries a child in her womb, going through morning sickness and all the other things that comes with pregnancy. All she hopes for is a healthy child whether it be male or female. She does not hate her child because he happens to be a male. Her love is unconditional. She goes through labor and suffers excruciating pain to bring this child into the world. She spends many a sleepless night caring for her child, putting his or her needs before her own. At the end of it all how is she repaid?
Cursed is the man who lays his hand on a woman except to show his affection. Cursed is the man who inflicts pain on a woman. Cursed is the man who rapes a woman, violating the very place from where he made his entrance into this world. Shame unto the man who has no understanding that without a woman there would be no man because it takes both to reproduce. Men and women are of equal importance; if one become extinct in due time the other will cease to exist.
It is time for changes. It is time for stronger laws put in place that will protect women globally. The atrocities against woman must stop. Women across the world must stand together and demand equal rights and justice.
Every man on earth is born of a woman and men ought to respect that. A nation that fails to protect its women is a nation that in spite of all its achievements, has failed humanity. It is like a pig wallowing in its own filth, no matter what it does at the end of the day it is a disgrace to the human race.

Solitude

As oft we moan and groan about our broken hearts,
Of the love we had and lost, of the one who was insincere,
And whose promises and words of love were false.
Yet there are those who have never loved,
Who have never known what it is like to have
a broken heart,
Some whose lips have never been kissed,
Who have never had arms to hold them tight,
Who have never felt the touch of a gentle caress,
Or experience the ecstasy of another body next to theirs,
The womb that never bore a child,
The breast that never suckled,
What is it like to go through life without once being touched?
Some wait and wait to find the perfect someone,
That never ever comes along,
Wasted years, waiting for something that doesn’t exist,
Some wait for that perfect husband,
To give them that perfect child,
A glimpse of him eventually appears,
But alas! It is too late because the childbearing days are gone,
So there still remains that uneven equation,
And the feeling that something is missing.
We live in an imperfect world and there is no such thing,
As a perfect someone,
For those who have never loved,
There is no missing something you have never experienced,
And though it may seem safer,
Is it really happier not to love,
Than to love and have your heart broken?
Not necessarily, because there will be no good times
to remember,
No memories to cherish, no one to reminisce about,
No experience to guide you,
What is it like to have lived and never loved?

Why Women Cry
A little boy asked his mother, “Why are you crying?” “Because I’m a woman,” she told him.
“I don’t understand,” he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will.”
Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?”
“All women cry for no reason,” was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, “God, why do women cry so easily?”
God said, “When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,
yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up,
and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife,
but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfaltering.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.”
“You see my son,” said God, “the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart – the place where love resides.”

THE BRICK
About ten years ago, a young and very successful executive named Josh was traveling down a Chicago neighborhood street. He was going a bit too fast in his sleek, black, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE, which was only two months old.
He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and – WHUMP! – it smashed Into the Jag’s shiny black side door! SCREECH..!!!! Brakes slammed! Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown. Josh jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, “What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!” Building up a head of steam, he went on. “That’s my new Jag, that brick you threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?”
“Please, mister, please. . . I’m sorry! I didn’t know what else to do!” Pleaded the youngster. “I threw the brick because no one else would stop!” Tears were dripping down the boy’s chin as he pointed around the parked car. “It’s my brother, mister,” he said. “He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.” Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, “Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He’s hurt and he’s too heavy for me.”
Moved beyond words, the young executive tried desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining, he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be OK. He then watched the younger brother push him down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long walk back to the sleek, black, shining, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE -a long and slow walk. Josh never did fix the side door of his Jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attention. . . Some bricks are softer than others. Feel for the bricks of life coming at to you. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has positive answers.
