A Positive Disposition

A little girl walked daily to and from school. Though the weather that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trip to school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up, along with thunder and lightning.

The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from school, and she herself feared that the electrical storm might harm her child.

Following the roar of thunder, lightning, through the sky and full of concern, the mother quickly got in her car and drove along the route to her child’s school.

As she did so, she saw her little girl walking along, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up and smile. Another and another were to follow quickly, each with the little girl stopping, looking up and smiling.

Finally, the mother called over to her child and asked, “What are you doing?”

The child answered, smiling, “God just keeps taking pictures of me.”

His Good Will

Many years ago, a ten-year-old boy approached the soda counter and climbed onto a stool to ask the busy waitress, “What does an ice cream sundae cost?”

“Fifty cents,” she answered.

The boy pulled out an assortment of change and counted it carefully as the busy waitress looked right and left at other customers she had to wait upon.

“Well how much would just plain ice cream be?” he asked.

“Thirty-five cents” she replied curtly.

Again the boy counted his money. “May I have a plain ice cream in a dish, please?” He gave the waitress the thirty-five cents and she brought him the ice cream.

Later, the waitress returned to clear the boy’s dish and when she picked it up, she discovered two nickels and five pennies. The waitress smiled tenderly as she realized that the boy had enough money for the sundae, but settled for plain vanilla so he could leave her a gratuity for her service.

Child Accidentally Kills Instructor

A nine year old girl accidentally shot and killed her shooting instructor at a shooting range in Arizona yesterday. Charles Vacca the thirty-nine years old instructor was teaching the girl how to fire a Uzi Sub-machine gun when she lost control of the weapon and shot him. Below is a brief video of the child and instructor before the tragedy happened.

The question that is utmost in my mind is why was this child allowed to handle such a powerful weapon. Why was there a need for her to learn to shoot it. It was a terrible decision with equally terrible consequences. I hope this serves as a lesson to all parents. Let children be children let them do children stuff. There are other forms of recreation besides shooting a gun.

Another Birthday

Happy Birthday Terriann
034On May 27, 2000 a little baby girl was born into this world.  Today that little girl will be celebrating her thirteenth birthday.  How time flies!  She is now entering the next phase of her life that will prepare her for adulthood; the teenage years.  It is a period in life where peer pressure is stronger and all you can do is hope that the values instilled in them will come into play and they will be strong enough to stand up for what they believe in and do not compromise just to follow the crowd and fit it.
Today I just want to say Happy Birthday to my little girl.  I hope the lord will continue to bless and guide her as she enters her teens.

Stop Abuse of Women

Stop Abuse of Women

Let us cease women to be subdued or allow ourselves to be boxed in by a wall of silence.  Let our voices be heard.  Let the stories of rape and other atrocities against be told.  Throughout the world women are being abused.  The disparity in the treatment of the sexes is real.  The heinous crimes of rapes, murders and other forms of abuse meted out to women are real.  The killing of babies because they are girls is real.

In the beginning God created woman as a companion for man.  He did this because He thought man was lonely and needed another human like himself to relate to.  I am quite sure it was intended that man would take good care of that woman.  The heart of some men seem to be desperately wicked.  They have no concept of what it is like to care for a woman.  They are emotionally barren, devoid of the ability to love her unconditionally.

It is from the womb of a woman that new life enters this world.  For nine months she carries a child in her womb, going through morning sickness and all the other things that comes with pregnancy.  All she hopes for is a healthy child whether it be male or female.  She does not hate her child because he happens to be a male.  Her love is unconditional.  She goes through labor and suffers excruciating pain to bring this child into the world.  She spends many a sleepless night caring for her child, putting his or her needs before her own.  At the end of it all how is she repaid?

Cursed is the man who lays his hand on a woman except to show his affection.  Cursed is the man who inflicts pain on a woman.  Cursed is the man who rapes a woman, violating the very place from where he made his entrance into this world.  Shame unto the man who has no understanding that without a woman there would be no man because it takes both to reproduce.  Men and women are of equal importance; if one become extinct in due time the other will cease to exist.

It is time for changes. It is time for stronger laws put in place that will protect women globally.  The atrocities against woman must stop.  Women across the world must stand together and demand equal rights and justice.

Every man on earth is born of a woman and men ought to respect that.  A nation that fails to protect its women is a nation that in spite of all its achievements, has failed humanity.  It is like a pig wallowing in its own filth, no matter what it does at the end of the day it is a disgrace to the human race.

Hear the Children’s Cry

Hear the children’s voices,
crying out in unison,
Save us don’t kill us,
We are defenseless,
Don’t prey on us.
You are supposed to love us,
not hurt us,
Talk to us don’t curse us,
Provide a home for us,
don’t abandon us.
Feed us don’t starve us.
The angels in heaven are crying,
For all the children you are killing,
When did the world become,
Such a dangerous place,
Where not even the little babies are safe?

The new school year began for many students today. It is a day filled with mixed emotions for children as well as parents. Some parents are seeing their children off to school for the very first time. Some children will accept this new change with curiosity an excitement, others will be crying and hanging on to their parents for dear life. Yes change is not always easy and parents need to understand that it is going to take a while for some children to adjust.

Some children will be moving up to higher grade. Some will be going to new schools. For a lot of children there is going be a period of adjustment. Be patient with them and try to be understanding. It is also a period of adjustment for those parents whose children have gone off to college. This is especially true for those who are attending college in another country or another state. You have them home all their lives and suddenly they are gone from home and each day those empty rooms remind you they are not there.

As parents we all knew that this day was coming. Keep in close contact with them. Make sure the lines of communication between you and them are open because college can be challenging for many young people. Some cannot handle being on their own and making import decisions in regards to relationships and other social behaviors very well and might do things they do not necessarily believe is right, in order to fit it. You have to let them no it is okay to stand up for what they believe in and not follow the crowd. It is okay to be different when it is for a good reason!
