Too True, Too Often

Too often we don’t realize
What we have until it is gone
Too often we wait too late to say
“I’m sorry – I was wrong.”
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
We hold dearest to our hearts
And we allow foolish things
To tear our lives apart.
Far too many times we let
Unimportant things into our minds
And then it’s usually too late
To see what made us blind.
So be sure that you let people know
How much they mean to you
Take that time to say the words
Before your time is through.
Be sure that you appreciate
Everything you’ve got
And be thankful for the little things
in life that mean a lot.

The Resurrection {By M. S. Lowndes}

THE RESURRECTION

We hold so close to our hearts
The cross where Jesus died
But so much more than the blood-stained cross
Is that Jesus came back to life

The stone’s been rolled away
The tomb lay open and bare
They looked for Him, and then the angel said
That He is no longer here

Oh what joy they must have felt
To see Him just once more
To eat with Him, to drink with Him
To receive Him back as Lord

So much did He accomplish
Through His death upon the cross
And in His rising from the dead
He reconciled us back to God

Nothing else could bridge the gap
That sin had wrenched apart
Now we can freely go to God
And receive Christ in our hearts

Slow Down {By Helen Gleason}

Slow down and stop your hurry,

Take your time, for life will wait.
Smell the flowers, hear the birds.
Even if it makes you late.

Let your eyes feast on the beauties,
Let God touch you as you stroll.
As you view His great creation
Let His message fill your soul.

Slow down, and take time to listen,
You’ll have joy as your reward.
The sky of blue, the sea that glistens
All are miracles of the Lord.

Walk in gratitude and wonder
Finding pleasures ever new.
The blessings of our great Creator
Made for us to daily view.

Slow down, take it not for granted
All this beauty ‘round we share.
But know that all of Nature’s beauty
Speak of God’s great love and care.

Why

Bam, bam, bam,
Another one goes down,
And the morning newspaper,
Headline scream,
‘Man shot dead last night!’
Bam, bam, bam,
Another mother cries,
Another heart knows sorrow,
Where will it end?
This senseless killing,
Blood forever spilling,
Who did it?
The question frequently asked,
And often go unanswered,
It must be someone with,
A heart carved from stone,
And a mind made of steel,
And ice water instead of blood,
Flowing through his veins
Who would take up a gun,
And senselessly kill his brother!

God Sheds His Love Around Us {By Linda C. Grazulis}

God sheds His love around us
As spring brings forth her blossoms –
The mountain peaks, the canyons deep
Speak that He is so awesome!
One cannot view a rainbow
Or hear a cardinal sing,
Smell the sweet aroma of the honeysuckle
And watch an eagle take to wing
Without believing in miracles
That occur everyday,
Which we often take for granted,
Enlightening our way.

The rolling of the ocean,
A shell washed upon the shore,
Hummingbirds so tiny –
Yet who could ask for more?
The pitter- patter of each raindrop,
Dew upon a rose,
An acorn falling from an oak
It’s amazing how it grows!
God sheds his love around us,
For He just loves to share
The bounty of this beautiful world
And how much He really cares!

Spring is Just Around The Corner {By Clay Harrison

Spring is just around the corner,
Beyond the melting snow.
There’s a babble in the brook now,
As it begins to flow.

The solitude of winter
is coming to an end.
The symphony of the bluebirds
is written on the wind.

The bud of the lilacs
are eager to unfold,
And the daffodils are ready
To display their finest gold.

The changing of the seasons
Proclaims throughout the earth
That the garden tomb is empty
in this season of rebirth.

For spring is a resurrection
That sets the heart aglow,
And it’s just around the corner,
Beyond the melting snow!

Can I

Rain drops pitter patter on the roof,
as I look in your eyes,
The touch of your gentle caress,
make me want so much to forget,
the crazy world outside.
When you say that you love me,
Do you really mean it?
Is this love reunion or another betrayal?
Can I trust you to be true?
If I give you my heart,
will you protect it,
or will you just tear it apart,
and leave me standing alone in the dark?
My heart wants to receive you,
I want so much to believe in you,
Can I?

The Other Woman

It was fun being the other woman,

It was exciting taking someone else man,

The mistake she made was marrying him,

For now she truly understand the saying,

what goes around comes around.

The tables have turned and now she is the one,

who has to compete with the other woman!

Beautiful Black Woman

They told her she couldn’t do it,
but she proved them all wrong,
Poor, bare foot country girl,
wanting to be doctor?
‘Must be crazy,’ they told her.
But she knew she was sane,
A doctor she wanted to be,
and for that goal she did aim.
They looked in awe and wonder,
said she made them proud.
And yet they didn’t think her good enough,
for they told her she couldn’t have him,
Asked if she had lost her mind,
doctor or not he wouldn’t marry her,
Her family was too poor,
and she was just too black.
She pitied their ignorance,
Felt ashamed for their own lack
of self-esteem.
She knew what she wanted,
She knew together they would make
a good team.
So she married him,
And stupid people that they were,
They wondered did he really love her,
or did she cast a spell?
Still enslaved by mental slavery,
they find it hard to understand,
It is not the color of your skin,
or the family you are from,
which defines you as a man or a woman.
