Is Nakedness the New Norm?

Society has one of the greatest influence on people. Many feel that they need to do things they are sometimes not comfortable with in order to fit it. Social Media perhaps has the greatest impact on how women view themselves and the image they project.

It saddens me to see that so many women equates nakedness with attractiveness. If you feel you have to expose your body in order to feel attractive, it says a lot about how you view youself as an individual and more importantly as a woman.

You are more than just an object, so much more than a sex symbol. Take pride in the way you carry yourself and be cognizant of the fact that there is a difference between looking attractive and looking tacky.

Empower Woman and Girls

There is the need for greater support for women and girls who become victims of human trafficking. More need to be done to eradicate sex trafficking and sex slavery of our women and girls. There is the need for greater awareness. If you suspect that a woman or girl is at risk say something. These vulnerable women and girls must be protected.

People who engage in acts of sex trafficking and holding women as sex slaves should face harsh punishment. We must protect or girls and women and give them a voice. If you suspect that someone is the victim of human trafficking call the Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888

Empower Girls and Women

One of the most important step in empowering women is educating girls. It is imperative that they are given the chance to receive a good education. In some countries across the world millions of girls are denied the chance of getting an education. Many are forced into child labor and child marriages where they endure a life of servitude. This impact negatively on the quality of life for the girls involved.

Girls who are denied an education become women who are ill-equipped for the job market. They are denied the chance of equal opportunity in the workplace and are more likely to live a life of poverty.

You can Rise Above Adversity

Many of life’s failure is a direct result of people giving up in the face of adversity. Too often we get impatient and give up before we get to that point where we overcome those obstacles and experience success. We sometimes forget that success is a process and often it cannot be rushed.

There are many successful people today who overcame adversity to get to where they are.  Oprah Winfrey had a difficult childhood. She was molested by family members and lost a child when she was 14. Yet she rose above her circumstances and today is one of the most successful women in America. Thomas Edison failed 1000 times before he created the light bulb. Steve Harvey was homeless for three years but that didn’t stop him from becoming successful. Bill Gates first businesses failed, today he is one of the richest man in the world. Jay Z couldn’t get signed to any record label. He created his own and today is one of the richest rapper.

These people made it and so can you. Find someone who inspire you, someone who made it despite adversity.  Use that person as a motivation in your live to stay focused and determined in your quest to achieve your own success. The key to it all is to never give up.

Empowerment

It may be surprising to know that jealousy and the lack of self-confidence are the two main factors that drive a wedge between women. Women can get along. We can build each other up if we rid our minds of jealousy and have confidence in our own abilities. With confidences we can soar to new heights. A confident woman takes joy in seeing her sisters rise.

You Deserve the Best

You have to believe that you deserve the best  from life. You have to believe that you are no less important than anyone else. You have to believe that nothing is worth sacrificing your happiness for. You have to believe that you can go on in spite of disappointments or even betrayals. You see you are strong and the strength within you make it possible for you to rise above that which was meant to pull you down.

Unite and Fight Abuse Against Women

Abuse of women is a form of human rights violation that affects women just about every where in the world.  Ironically one of the thing which contributes to   abuse is the lack of unity among women and the fact that in some societies women actually take part in abusing other women.  In places such as India and Pakistan mother-in-laws and sister-in-laws often beat and torture a new bride if they are not satisfied with the dowry that the family receives.  There is no unity among the sisterhood and they see nothing wrong with hurting one of their kind.

In countries where Female Genital Mutilation is practiced, it is often the women who carry out this gruesome operation.  In the Cameroon and other places that practice breast ironing it is the women who hurt their daughters and inflict physical as well as psychological scars.  Women disfigure and hurt their daughters in what they say is an attempt to protect them from rape and harassment by men.  These women fail to grasp the understanding that what they are doing is just another form of abuse.  It is a no win situation for many young girls; if the men don’t hurt them, their mothers will.

One of the biggest obstacle in eliminating abuse against women worldwide is the fact that in many countries women have been conditioned to accept abuse as a part of life.  Women suffer abuse in forced marriages and do nothing  to protect their daughters from experiencing the same fate.  So the vicious cycle of abuse is allowed to continue.  For many young girls there is no escape, no way out.  There is no one to stand up for them and no one to protect them.

The change must start with women taking responsibility for protecting their daughters instead of hurting them.  Women must unity in the fight for equal rights for women. Young girls must no longer be denied the right to an education and they should not be forced into child marriages for which they are not prepared physically, mentally or emotionally.  Women must understand that abuse of any form is not acceptable.

Be Positive

I love positive people, the ones who can look at a negative situation and say what can I learn from this. The ones who lift others up rather than tear others down. The ones who inspire their friends rather than waste time focusing on their enemies. The ones who see themselves as victors rather than victims.Stay positive my friends. The world need more positive people

Ladies don’t Demean each Other

My sisters I want you to know that God saw a purpose for our existence and thus he created us and He was pleased with His handiwork. Now there was viral video recently of a pastor demeaning women. According to him if a woman wears makeup, paints her nails or wear hair which is not her own that makes her a whore. He went on to tell the men in his congregation that if they are married to a woman who does that they are married to a whore.

I know that most of us are intelligent enough to know the definition of a whore and that these things do not make a woman a whore any more than her wearing tight or short clothing. Ironically instead of being outraged some women defended this man, believing themselves that a woman’s attire is what defines her. I was disappointed but not surprised because sadly woman are often the first to tear down other women.

While I believe that a woman ought to carry herself in a respectable manner and dress properly for church the garment she wears does not make her a whore. As women we need to lift each other up instead of tearing each other down because what is in your heart counts more than what is on your body.

Look out for each other

If you see your sister taking the wrong path, don’t curse her, don’t belittle her, don’t cause her to feel worthless. If you care, if you really care, take that sister aside and talk to her. Let her know that you care. Encourage her to take another path and embark on a new journey. That is what strong women do, we build each other up.
