Lost Chance

I caught a glimpse of your face,
Saw the sad reflection of your smile,
And the longing in your eyes,
It spoke the question you were afraid to ask.
It is all so painful, the memories of the past.
When love was right before your eyes you chose not to see
Thinking only of your youth and the need to be free.
The years have gone by and you are all alone
You yearn for something that is no longer there.
Isn’t it funny how we never realize what we have
until we lose it?

Autumn Reflections {Alice J. Christianson}

With early autumn come the days
I love the best of all,
When the sunlight gilds the landscape with
The mellow light of Fall.
October’s trees don leaves of gold,
Bright red and amber too;
No treasure chest could boast
Jewels of so rare a hue.
The harvest has been gathered in,
Vineyards their riches yield;
In little, sheltered garden, one
Last rose may be reveled.
I love to see the roadside stands
That offer up their treats…
Pumpkins and juicy apples, grapes,
And cider, sharp and sweet.
With Autumn comes Thanksgiving,
That special time when we,
In church and home gather to join
With friends and family,
To thank God for the blessings He
So graciously bestows:
May we never take for granted
The freedoms that we know.

Help From Above {Oran W. Donner}

If your day seems dull and dreary,
If your troubles get you down,
If you feel you are in deep water
And certain you will drown,
If you’re shackled by a burden
Held fast within its grip,
You wish you could be rescued
Your life’s a sinking ship;
Then it’s time to turn to Jesus
Who is reaching out to you
To take your hand to guide you,
Show you life anew.
Trust Jesus as your lifeline,
To still the storms you face,
He will take you to safe harbor
And provide a resting place.
He will be your friend and love you
No matter where you roam,
Then at your journey’s end
He will take you safely home.

God Can Do Anything {Loise P Fritz}

God takes the darkest midnight,
Turns it to morning bright,
He takes the darkest moment,
Transforms it into light.

He takes away the raindrops
And makes the rainbow shine;
He takes away our worries
And gives us peace of mind.

He takes away the teardrops,
Put smiles upon our face;
He sets aside the dark clouds
And grants us sunny days.

He takes away our sorrows,
Puts joy into our hearts.
Our gracious God uplifts us;
From us He’ll never depart.

Do You Feel There is No Hope

Do You Feel There is No Hope

By Unknown

In your times of deep despair,
Do you feel there is no hope?
As the darkness closes in on you,
Do you feel you cannot cope?

As you struggle on through every trial,
Do you say “When will it end”?
As you cry yourself to sleep at night,
Do you wish you had a friend?

When your body’s racked with aches and pains,
Do you feel you are alone?
When you think about the future,
Do you fear the great unknown?

There is someone who really cares,
And He hears your every cry.
His arms are reaching out to you,
And on Him you can rely.

When things close in around you,
He sees your fear and doubt –
He wants to hold you in His arms,
And He will never cast you out.

As you stumble through the darkness,
He will be your guiding light.
He wants to wipe away your tears,
For you are precious in His sight.

Reach out right now to Jesus,
And let Him take complete control –
He’ll take that heavy burden,
And He’ll touch and make you whole.

He’s reaching out His arms to you,
And He wants to be your friend.
Let Him take you in His loving arms,
For His love will never end.

An Attitude of Love { Clay Harrison }

Life presents us with challenges
That we must overcome,
And sometimes all the detours
Can leave the senses numb.
Life is filled with stumbling blocks
We pass along the way,
But it can become a stepping stone
When love comes into play.

Wherever there’s an obstacle
That we must rise above,
It helps to overcome it with
An attitude of love.
For anger never solves a thing
And stress will bring us down,
But hope unlocks the doorway
Where hope and faith are found.

So many things divide us
Throughout the human race,
But love’s the great uniter,
The smile on mankind’s face!
Life presents us with challenges
That we must rise above,
And blessed is he who can maintain
An attitude of love.

Hang in There {Ruth M Gilmour}

Smile, be happy, laugh a lot,
Don’t shed another tear;
A wonderful life is waiting for you,
So face it without fear.

There’ll be problems to solve, hurdles to cross,
Work hard and know you can cope.
With God at your side, Him as your guide,
Each day will bring you new hope.

Day will pass by and turn into years,
The ache in your heart will soon heal;
Keep your faith and know that God always cares,
So tackle each day with zeal.

Courage my friend and trust be with you,
Accomplish each task with a grin;
Hang in there, you will make it I know,
Remember your God, you have Him.

Don’t Wait

Don’t wait to do what should be done,
That you have long delayed –
For we are not assured the grace
To live beyond today;
And we cannot return from death
To what we left behind,
To do some deed we should have done
For God or humankind.

Don’t wait to speak the words of love
Another waits to hear,
Don’t wait to hug, in warm embrace,
Some heart you hold so dear;
And wait no more to share your wealth
With charities in need
Or beg forgiveness of the Lord
For hidden, sinful deeds.

Today is yours to do or say
What you have long delayed –
That should be said – or should be done
Before your Judgement Day;
And you, dear heart – just you, alone –
Know what you’ve left to do
To better complement your life
Before this day is through.

Every Morning {Grace E. Easley}

Waking up each morning
Brings an eagerness to live,
And joy seeps from my waiting heart,
As through an open sieve.
The years seem to have no consequence,
And I am once again
Soaking up God’s goodness,
Like the brown earth after rain.
My cross is not so heavy
When view in morning light,
And I can face by day the thoughts
I could not bear at night.
It’s only in believing that
God shares my narrow way;
That I can keep the best in life,
And throw the rest away.
It’s all in how you look at life
That tells the final tale;
How well you measures up decides
If you win or fail.
So when I wake each morning,
Though I can’t see His face,
I know God walks beside me,
And the world’s a better place.

The Masquerade

The masquerade stands
alone and distant,
A look of deep fixation,
A show of authority,
Of even contempt,
Oozing arrogance.

But like a wall of ice
which can remain
but only for a time,
The sunshine of spring
melts away the ice of winter,
The masquerade topple over
and slowly melts away.
