When was the last time you watched a news cast that left you feeling energized and motivated? I am almost certain that has not happened lately. At any given time of the day the news report is filled with more negatives than positives. Imagine filling your mind all day with that kind of negative energy. It could leave you feeling less energized, and even depressed. While it is important to stay informed watching less news might reduce your stress level.
Personal, I limit myself to half-an-hour of news most days, if at all. I usually tune in to “World News Tonight with David Muir. This half-an-hour segment keeps me informed on the things that I need to know. By the way this is not an endorsement of ABC. You can tune in to your favorite news channel. The point I am trying to make is keep informed without drowning yourself in all the negative news of the day.
“God never said that we wouldn’t have unfair situations, that we wouldn’t experience loss. But He promised if we would stay in faith, He would restore everything that was stolen.”
― Joel Osteen

“Don’t let the negativity given to you by the world disempower you. Instead give to yourself that which empowers you.”
Les Brown

A wise person said, “The pages of yesterday cannot be revised, but the pages of tomorrow are blank and you hold the pen. Make it an inspiring story.” These are powerful words if you think hard about it. The message here is never to let your circumstances or your past determine your future. Your story might not have started out they way you would have wanted, but you have to power to write a different ending.
A perfect example of this is Oprah Winfrey. She was born into poverty and suffered many adversity. She was molested during her childhood and early teen and became pregnant at fourteen. She did not allow her past circumstances to define her and she is the powerful and successful woman she is today because of that. Never allow your past to define you. Rise above and write a happy ending in your book of life

People know your name but not your story. They’ve heard what you’ve done, but not what you’ve been through. So take their opinion of you with a grain of salt. In the end it’s not what others think, it’s what you think about yourself that counts. Sometimes you have to do exactly what is best for you and your life, not what is best for everyone else. One valuable lesson in life is understanding that people won’t always support you even though you support them. They won’t always respect your feelings even though you respect theirs. Sometimes the people you do the most for are the ones less likely to lend a helping when you are the one in need. Sometimes you have to be your own best friend and your biggest cheerleader because it’s not about them. It’s about you!
Time can be an ally or an enemy. What it becomes depends entirely upon you, your goals, and your determination to use every available minute.
