Maintain Your Individuality

Maintain your individuality in a relationship. Allow someone to share your life but never allow that person to become your life. Despite your best efforts a relationship may fail to work out. If that person who is your life walks away what will you have left?  It is much harder for someone who considers the other person to be his or her life to bounce back after a breakup. In fact some individuals have been known to commit suicide because they accept the breakup to mean tht their life is over. Breakups are hard but by maintaining your individuality you will find it easier to cope.

Woman of the Week

Starting Today Monday July 10, I am going to feature a Woman of the Week, every week. They will be women in history as well as present day women who have impacted significantly on society and in some cases the world.

Week 1

Our Woman of the Week is: Susan B Anthony (February 15, 1820 – March 13, 1906)

Susan B Anthony was an American Human Rights Activists. In an era when women had no voice, she fought for the rights of women. In 1852 she along with a colleague founded the New York Women’s State Temperance Society, after she was prevented from speaking at a temperance conference because she was a woman.

Susan was a strong supporter for the abolition of slavery and campaigned for equal rights for people of color. She was a leading figure in the women’s voting rights movement. In 1872 she was arrested for voting in an election. She was convicted but refused to pay the fine. Sadly Susan died before women were allowed the right to vote.

The fight for the rights of women has been an uphill battle. Let us salute this iconic woman who helped to pave the way.

Empowerment

It’s all about Empowerment

“Ladies! I encourage you NOT to be so easily flattered by what a man has. Be flattered by his strength, courage, integrity, and character as a man. Be impressed by his ability to be honest, faithful, loving, and respectful to you. Be impressed because he can communicate and openly express his feelings. Be impressed because he’s got confidence, direction, and purpose in his life. Be impressed because he’s a quality man, NOT a fine man. Real Talk!”

Empowerment

“Women Empowerment Reminder of The Day.
Always respect yourself as a woman. You attract what you are, so be very mindful of how you’re representing yourself. If you want respect, you must first learn how to respect yourself, first. Attracting negative attention is never a good thing. Be a woman of substance! Be a woman that both women and men respect, admire, and look up to. Don’t disrespect yourself by lowering your standards and accepting just anything that comes your way. It’s okay to be single! If you want a relationship of substance, you can’t keep entertaining people and things that mean you no good. Think about it! It’s all up to you.”

5 Secrets to a Happy Life

  1. Accept yourself for who you are and love yourself. You must learn to look in the mirror and love what you see, the image of who you are. Loving yourself is the first step towards happiness.
  2. Make peace with your past. Forgive those who need to be forgiven. Cut ties with those who cares nothing about your happiness. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people who motivate and inspire you.
  3. Do not harbor bitterness or resentment in your heart towards anyone because in the end it will stifle your inner growth and peace of mind.
  4. Be kind to yourself. Pamper yourself every once in a while. Do something that makes you happy and make it all about you, you deserve it.
  5. Learn to say no. Remember that you are not here to save the world, so do not take on more than you can handle because you might not want to displease someone. You are never going to be able to please everyone or be everything for everyone. You must be able to say no and feel no guilt about doing so.

Borrowed Time

The youthful years are gifts from God use them wisely. Do not be like the five foolish virgins who had no oil in their lamps and were caught unprepared.

Some young people live life with no thought of tomorrow and are unprepared for life’s realities. It is all good and well to have fun but you need to know who is going to have your back when the fun is over.

A young man will bounce from woman to woman living the life of a player, forming no roots because he doesn’t understand that nothing lasts forever. It is not about how many women you can sleep with but about finding a woman who is going to be there for the long ride and have your back no matter what. When you find such a woman treat her like the queen she is because the day will come when you can’t play those games. The good looks won’t last forever neither will the sex appeal. In fact the day might come when the only thing you can raise is your hand to put food to your mouth. So don’t go on living careless. Let your life take root.

Young woman don’t buy into the hype that you are beautiful and sexy and can have any man so there is no need for you to settle down. You live to be the life of the party. You want to be the one men lust after. Enjoy the ride while you can because it won’t last forever. Before you know it everything start heading south, old age start creeping in and you are left wondering where did all the years go because for the future you didn’t plan.

So young men and women while you are young and having fun remember that the youthful years are a gift from God and you must use them wisely.

Empowering Women

The time has come for us as women to realize our worth and take responsibility for our lives. We must embrace change when we see that path that we are taking only leads to pain. We must liberate ourselves and become the masters of our own happiness. No one is going to do it for us, we have to do that for ourselves. Happiness is not a privilege, it is our birthright and we must never place it in the hands of those who have no understanding that their role is to add and not take away a woman’s happiness.

An Open Letter to Men
From Women Against Domestic Violence
Dear Men:
It is with tears in our eyes and fear for our lives that we pen this note to you. Domestic violence has taken the lives of many of our sisters leaving many of our homes broken and our children motherless. Men we need you to understand that we are not the enemy so stop treating us like one. We give to you our love, our passion, our understanding and compassion, we trust you with our lives and all we ask is that you reciprocate and treat us right. Don’t see our love for you as a weakness, don’t leave us with cuts and bruises, don’t crush out our joy and leave us broken. You see men you need to understand that love is not supposed to hurt. If your love is causing your woman hurt then it means that you are doing something wrong. Any boy can hurt a woman but it takes a man to make her happy. So the next time you raise your hand to hit a woman stop and ask yourself am I a boy or am I a man. Treat women with love and respect….Be A Man!
