Stop Abuse of Women
The World Health Organization estimates that between 100 million and 140 million women and girls world wide have been subjected to female genital mutilation. The report states that about three million girls are at risk each year.
The purpose of female genital mutilation is to curb the sexual desire of the girl or woman and preserve her sexual honor before marriage.. They see this as a way of guaranteeing her virginity and fidelity. The mutilation is irreversible and the procedure is extremely painful.
FGM is practiced in Egypt, Somalia, Yemen, Mali, Sudan, Guinea, Djibouti, Mauritania and others. Knives, scissors, scalpels, pieces of glass and razor blades are often used and often times these instruments are not sterile. What is even more troubling is that the procedure is often done without anesthetic.
The practice has dreadful consequences. Mortality rate is high and the survivors suffer their whole lives from the psychological and medical consequences of the operation. They are traumatized and suffer from health issues during marriage and pregnancy. Most endure rather than enjoy sex. Female Genital Mutilation must stop. No woman should have to endure this horrible form of abuse.

Stop Abuse of Women
Let us cease women to be subdued or allow ourselves to be boxed in by a wall of silence. Let our voices be heard. Let the stories of rape and other atrocities against be told. Throughout the world women are being abused. The disparity in the treatment of the sexes is real. The heinous crimes of rapes, murders and other forms of abuse meted out to women are real. The killing of babies because they are girls is real.
In the beginning God created woman as a companion for man. He did this because He thought man was lonely and needed another human like himself to relate to. I am quite sure it was intended that man would take good care of that woman. The heart of some men seem to be desperately wicked. They have no concept of what it is like to care for a woman. They are emotionally barren, devoid of the ability to love her unconditionally.
It is from the womb of a woman that new life enters this world. For nine months she carries a child in her womb, going through morning sickness and all the other things that comes with pregnancy. All she hopes for is a healthy child whether it be male or female. She does not hate her child because he happens to be a male. Her love is unconditional. She goes through labor and suffers excruciating pain to bring this child into the world. She spends many a sleepless night caring for her child, putting his or her needs before her own. At the end of it all how is she repaid?
Cursed is the man who lays his hand on a woman except to show his affection. Cursed is the man who inflicts pain on a woman. Cursed is the man who rapes a woman, violating the very place from where he made his entrance into this world. Shame unto the man who has no understanding that without a woman there would be no man because it takes both to reproduce. Men and women are of equal importance; if one become extinct in due time the other will cease to exist.
It is time for changes. It is time for stronger laws put in place that will protect women globally. The atrocities against woman must stop. Women across the world must stand together and demand equal rights and justice.
Every man on earth is born of a woman and men ought to respect that. A nation that fails to protect its women is a nation that in spite of all its achievements, has failed humanity. It is like a pig wallowing in its own filth, no matter what it does at the end of the day it is a disgrace to the human race.

The Seed

I planted a seed of faith,
I molded it up with hope,
I showered it with love,
Then waited for it to grow,
It grew for a while,
But then it got scorched up by the sun,
I watered it with my tears,
Refusing to let it die,
I held on to my faith’,
I continued to hope,
It struggled for a while,
Then slowly began to grow,
And then one morning,
I looked outside my bedroom window,
To find that it had bloomed,
And I felt a burst of joy,
As my eyes behold,
The most beautiful of flowers,
That I had ever seen.
Thought For Today
Life comes with no guarantee neither warranty, it comes with no manual or navigational map. It comes with no recipe nor formula for success, it gives us no idea of what the future holds, as a matter of fact it comes naked; the truth be told however, is that the outcome will be determined by our very own attitude and actions.

Thought For Today
Never allow yourself to go down a path where your ability to make a judgment between what is right or wrong become distorted by being able to find justification for your actions.
