Michelle Obama is one of the most extraordinary women to have ever graced The White House. Her beauty, intellect, charisma, and gracefulness speaks much about her character. She reaches across class barriers and makes people feel at ease with her vibrant and welcoming personality. She exudes an aura of confidence and an understanding of her role as a woman with a voice and one who is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She is someone who we as women can emulate. She was like a breath of fresh air in The White House and many of us will miss her when she is gone.

There is an old saying that the more things change the more they remain the same. Many women know this reality only too well. The abuse and disrespect of women have gone unchanged throughout the centuries dispte talks of ending abuse and protecting women.

It is time for self empowerment and for women to  recognize some of the signs that indicate you may be heading for disaster. An important element of any relationship is RESPECT. A man who respect his woman will not make her feel as if she is unimportant and unworthy of his love. If you start off the relationship feeling that you are not respected enough don’t waste your time and energy trying to make him respect you. It is a bad foot to start out on and a serious indication that it will not work out.

You cannot force a person to respect you but you can refuse to be disrespected. Empower youself with the knowledge that you derseve better and you will not settle for less.

2016 Presidential Election

The election campaign of 2016  has become more of a smear campaign than anything else. Some of the things I am seeing and hearing makes me wonder what people expect of a leader. I am still trying to wrap my head around the comments that Donald Trump has made in regards to women. I can’t wait or the election to be over and done with. On election day go out and vote wisely.

Some people are easily discouraged. At the first obstacle they encounter they are ready to give up. They live with self doubt, expecting to fail then wonder why they do. The biggest obstacle keeping you from achieving your dreams may be your thoughts. So let go of those negative thoughts today. Cast doubts aside. It will not be an easy road but you can make it. One day like the phoenix you will rise. (Marva Seaton)

Many rivers to cross along this journey of life. The quickest starter is not always the one to finish first, so don’t feel like you are a failure if you are not there yet. There is a divine plan for everyone and there is a perfect timing.

Don’t lose yourself trying to live up to the expectations of others. Never for one moment believe that you have to live by their rules. Don’t buy into that belief that some people are more important than others. We all have a purpose on this earth although we play different roles. The defining point is that we are all ‘mortal man’ subjected to the same rules of nature. From the dust we all came and to the dust one day we will return.
