Popular Fruits I don’t eat

In the Caribbean we have some fruits in abundance as most people in rural areas have a fruit tree or fruit trees growing in their backyard. There are two popular fruits that I don’t eat one is Star Apple, the other is Mango. Mango is such a popular that people sometimes appear shocked when you say you don’t eat it. That come in many different varieties but they are not for me.

Morning Motivation

Be Thankful

Some people spend so much time complaining they don’t seem to believe they have anything to be thankful for. Yet if we look around we can see the beauty of life in all it’s glory From the sun rising in the sky to the flowers growing wild. From the breeze that kiss our skin to the rain that cools the earth. For the gift of being able to see, speak and hear, we ought to be thankful.

Changing Times

Do Children Play Outdoors Anymore?

I remember growing up, at school, we couldn’t wait for recess to come so we could go outside and play. From jump rope, to baseball, dandy shandy and hopscotch, we did it all. Sometime we girls would sit and play jacks. It was so much fun.

These days children will sit and be on their phones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices for hours without venturing outdoors. Oh how times have changed.

Morning Motivation

Keep a Positive Mind

It is so easy to be negative, especially when we see all that is happening around us. People now have no respect for human life. The simple things of going about our daily lives which we use to take for granted is not so anymore. Now we have to be super cautious of our surroundings and be prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure our safety. Despite it all we cannot allow fear to win. We have to keep a positive attitude and hope for the best. Life is a beautiful thing.

How can I tell if he is Grooming me for Abuse

In many abusive relationships the abuse doesn’t start right away. In fact when he is pursuing you he may be so charming that you feel you have won a prize. It is when he gets comfortable with you and he believes he has you hooked that he begins to show his true colors.

If he begins to have problem with you having a relationship with your former friends and even relatives, he may not have your best interest at heart. Abusers love to have their victims isolated. That way when the abuse begins, you have no one to turn to.

If he hits you and tell you he is sorry and it won’t happen again, don’t believe him. If he could not control his temper in that instance, what is to stop him from losing control again. Each time you forgive him, you give him more power over you and sad reality is that he is grooming you to accept abuse in the relationship.

Morning Motivation

Let Go and Let God

You won’t be able to do it alone. Sometimes the answers will seem to elude you. Sometimes your faith will be tested. Sometimes you will feel as if you are going through a dark tunnel with no end in sight. Through it all, always remember there is a higher force. Don’t be afraid to call upon him. Sometimes you have to let go and let God’s will be done.

Relationships

How do I know he is the one?

Like most things in life, nothing is guaranteed in a relationship. It may turn out the way you expect it to, or it might not. The important thing is to get to know the person you are dating. You may find little clues that will tell you if he is a keeper.

  1. Is he kind, considerate and cares about your happiness as much as he does about his? If he does, he could be the one.
  2. If he treats you with respect, makes you feel special, listens when you talk and make you feel what you have to say is important, he could be the one.
  3. If he makes the effort to spend quality time with you, talks about his dreams and aspirations and a future that includes you, he could be the one
  4. If he not only tells you, but shows you that he loves you and how much you mean to him, he could be the one.
  5. If he has all of the above qualities, you probably have a winner on your hand. Hold on to him.
