The X Factor

Last night was full of surprises on the X Factor.  It saw Leroy Bell, Melanie Amaro, Rachael Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Drew, Lakoda Rayne  and Marcus Canty being voted through and Stacy Francis and Astro ending up in the bottom two. Stacy’s rendition of Amazing Grace was not enough to put her through, so she was sent home.  Last night Astro’s immaturity came into full focus by the attitude he took about finding himself in the bottom two. Astro needs to understand that no one owes him anything and that the key to success in life is that when you find yourself down you pull yourself up and try again.  He is not going to win votes by acting like a spoiled child.  One can not deny that he is a very talented youngster and he has the potential to be a great star one day, however his attitude right now is going to get him voted off the X  Factor.  Let’s face it you cannot disrespect people then turn around and expect them to vote for you.

What happened last night should serve as a wake up call for the remaining contestants.  Marcus Canty is doing well and holding his own.  Josh Krajcik has a really powerful voice and stand a good chance of making it to the finals.   The girls are doing great however I need to see Melanie Amaro display a bit more confidence. Each week she has that air of uncertainty about her.  Who will win the X Factor is a question that is hard to answer at this point in time.  All I can say to the remaining contestants is just go out there and perform and give it all you’ve got!

Time to Reflect

The year two thousand and eleven is almost at a close, very soon we will be welcoming the year two thousand and twelve. As we await this moment let us take the time to reflect. How have we spent the year thus far? Were we at any point able to make a positive impact on someone else life. Were we able to maintain a spirit of forgiveness and not give in to the urge to render evil for evil.
A lot of problem in the world today is due to a lack of love. People hold on to old grudges, resentments and the thought of getting even and in so doing lose touch of what is right and what is wrong. Someone does you wrong and you so badly want to even the score that it doesn’t occur to you that if you do what the other person does, in reality you are no better than them.
In all things try to do good and always be reminded of these words of our Lord and Savior ”Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me” You know even people who claim to be christian have not fully grasped this message of brotherly love and I will give you an example.
There was this christian? couple and I put the question sign because I really wonder. Anyway they had a house which they rented a family. Everything was okay initially but there came a time when the family began having financial problems and the rent was not always paid on time. The family was given notice to vacate the house, the reason being late payment of rent. Subsequently the family was evicted. All of their furniture was placed outside. As night approached the family wondered where they were going to spend the night.
This was a thought farthest from the mind of the owner of the house as he came and locked up the house leaving the family outside in the dark. He and his wife then left for church; no doubt to worship the very Lord ” who said whatsoever you do to the least of my brother that you do unto to me. When I was hungry you gave me to eat, when I was thirsty you gave me to drink , when I was homeless you gave me a home now enter into the home of my father.”
Let us try not to be like this couple for the greatest test we have to pass on this earth is that of loving one another and doing good to each other!

Carpenter Jokes

Two blonde carpenters were working on a house. The one who was nailing down siding would reach into his nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over his shoulder or nail it in.The other, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, “Why are you throwing those nails away?”

The first explained, “If I pull a nail out of my pouch and it’s pointed toward me, I throw it away ’cause it’s defective. If it’s pointed toward the house, then I nail it in!”

The second blonde got completely upset and yelled, “You moron! The nails pointed toward you aren’t defective! They’re for the other side of the house!”

A carpenter was giving evidence about an accident he had witnessed. The lawyer for the defendant was trying to discredit him and asked him how far away he was from the accident.

The carpenter replied, “Twenty-seven feet, six and one-half inches.”

“What? How come you are so sure of that distance?” asked the lawyer.

“Well, I knew sooner or later some idiot would ask me. So I measured it!” replied the carpenter.
