Today let us take the time to thank God for getting us through the past week. Sadly many did not make it. Gun violence continue to claim the lives of innocent people. We can only pray that a change will come and the rights of every citizen will be addressed. As we welcome another week we pray God will protect us and see us through. Happy Sunday!
Awareness is Vital in the Fight Against Domestic Violence
The statistics regarding domestic violence globally is alarming. Women die every day at the hands of intimate partners. Prevention is the single most important way to avoid becoming a victim. You might ask what is the strategy for prevention, and the answer to that is awareness. Learn to recognize the signs that a partner or a potential partner may be an abuser. Most women never believe a partner will go too far until it happens. Few recognize an abusive relationship it for what it is…a matter of life and death situation. Do not ignore threats. Do not ignore abusive language. Do not ignore acts of violence such as hitting, shoving and kicking. Do not fall for apologies and believe when he tells you it won’t happen again. The truth is that not only will it continue but it could get worse. Be aware, know the signs. Leave before it’s too late.
A Little About the History of Mankind
No one knows or perhaps will ever know how the world and all that is in it came into existence. It is perhaps a question that will never be answered. However one thing historians seem to agree on is where mankind or what we term “human beings” originated. And that is on the continent of Africa. Whether we like it or not we are more alike than we are different. If we should believe the history of mankind it means we all have one common ancestor who lived in Africa many many years ago. Africa is the motherland. We all have an African connection, unbelievable though it may seem.
