Your Most Precious Gift
If I were to ask what is the most precious gift you have on this earth, what would you say. For different people it could be different things. However if you stop and think about it long and hard your answer might change. The reality is that the most precious give each of us have is our lives. The gift of life can take second place to no other. It is because of it that we are able to enjoy the other gifts that God has bestowed upon us such as our children, spouses, families and friends. Do not take this gift lightly. Cherish every moment of it.
Domestic Violence…When will it end?
Domestic violence is a global issue. It affects women all over the world and despite efforts many women lose their lives to domestic violence each year. According to a UN report over 50,000 women lost their lives to intimate partners or family members in 2018. This tells us that a solution is nowhere in sight. A part of the problem is that the approach to domestic violence is somewhat like trying to put a bandaid on a wound that need stitches. Many people wait until their situation becomes unbearable before they seek help.
We must begin to take a more proactive approach to the fight against domestic violence. We must take domestic violence awareness into the classrooms. We have to start educating our young people of the ills of domestic violence before they engage in relationships. We have to teach our girls as well as boys that abuse is not an acceptable behavior in a relationship.
Women alone cannot bring about change. The police alone are not going to bring about change. The government alone cannot bring about change. Everyone has to get involved. We have to get more men on board. Many are against domestic violence. We need them to speak to other men about this issue. We also need to talk about in church and in the workplace. Let us rewrite the script. Abuse in a relationship is not okay. Let us with a collective voice say NO to domestic abuse.

Don’t be imprisoned by your own fears, trapped in a world where you feel that you don’t have the strength to stand on your own two feet and make decisions for your life or charter a course for your happiness. Eight Years of Blogging
It is amazing how quickly time goes by. This October will be eight years since I started this blog. I have not always been consistent but I am proud of the fact that I am still here. I have noticed that quite a few bloggers I used to interact with when I started out are no longer around but I have met some new people along the way.
I am making a few small changes to the blog. I will be doing book reviews posting inspirational quotes and keep abreast of current news stories. My goal is blog, and interact with you all in 2019. Let’s make this a fun and exciting year. Happy Blogging!
Where is the Love
It is sad the way we as humans treat one another. The lack of respect for human life is having devastating effects all around the world. People take the lives of others with no thought of the pain they cause and the problem is the good people die while the evil ones live.
Let us be our brother’s keeper. Let us look out for each other for no one is immune from the danger of those who come to plunder and kill. Last week my hometown lost one of its best, a man who spent his entire life serving his community. He was a gentle soul, a kind hearted person who people could go to for help. His death has left a huge void. My prayer is that his murderer will be brought to justice.

From A Man’s Perspective
Recently I came across a Facebook video of a man sharing his views about the growing nudity displayed by women. He voiced his concern that woman are not taking pride in themselves any more and seem to think they have to walk around half-naked to catch the eyes of a man. He warns that they will attract attention but from the wrong men and that they should take more pride in themselves because a man can spot a good woman from a distance even if she is fully clothed.
I am noticing this growing trend of women wearing less and less and I feel sad that women feel they have to go to this level in order to feel attractive. Women please be reminded that respect begins with you.
