The Presence of the Lord [By Hope C. Oberhelman]

What makes each day seem beautiful,
Though the skies are filled with rain;
What makes our lives so full of peace,
Though we oft are touched with pain?

What makes each day seem beautiful
When the road ahead is long;
What makes our lives so full of hope
When we seldom hear a song?

What makes each day seem beautiful,
Though our hearts are filled with care;
What makes our lives so full of joy,
Though there’s sadness everywhere?

What makes each day seem beautiful
When we do not find reward;
What makes our lives so full of love…
It’s the presence of the Lord!

Lord Give Me Faith {By Phyllis C. Michael}

Help me walk with patience, Lord;
Help me watch and pray;
I know that You have heard my cry,
The sun will shine some day.

Help me seek your will, dear Lord,
O, keep me brave and true;
I know not what is best for me.
Send faith to see me through.

Help me walk each step with hope
Though I can’t see the light;
Lord, take my hand and lead the way;
Oh, guide me day and night!

Hour by hour; Lord give me faith,
Faith that never asks why;
Whatever is, Lord, help me say,
‘Safe in Your care I am.’

The Resurrection {By M. S. Lowndes}

THE RESURRECTION

We hold so close to our hearts
The cross where Jesus died
But so much more than the blood-stained cross
Is that Jesus came back to life

The stone’s been rolled away
The tomb lay open and bare
They looked for Him, and then the angel said
That He is no longer here

Oh what joy they must have felt
To see Him just once more
To eat with Him, to drink with Him
To receive Him back as Lord

So much did He accomplish
Through His death upon the cross
And in His rising from the dead
He reconciled us back to God

Nothing else could bridge the gap
That sin had wrenched apart
Now we can freely go to God
And receive Christ in our hearts

Cast Not a Stone {By Kay Hoffman}

Cast not the first stone, my friend,

When someone goes astray;

When a brother slips and falls,

Lift him up, instead and pray.

Pass not along the sordid news

Of someone’s sin displayed;

Lift him up and help him stand

Because for him you’ve prayed.

Slow Down {By Helen Gleason}

Slow down and stop your hurry,

Take your time, for life will wait.
Smell the flowers, hear the birds.
Even if it makes you late.

Let your eyes feast on the beauties,
Let God touch you as you stroll.
As you view His great creation
Let His message fill your soul.

Slow down, and take time to listen,
You’ll have joy as your reward.
The sky of blue, the sea that glistens
All are miracles of the Lord.

Walk in gratitude and wonder
Finding pleasures ever new.
The blessings of our great Creator
Made for us to daily view.

Slow down, take it not for granted
All this beauty ‘round we share.
But know that all of Nature’s beauty
Speak of God’s great love and care.

My Daily Prayer {By Hazel K Boyd}

Midst the hustle and bustle
of a busy day
I pause and take time
to kneel and pray –
A prayer for all my friends,
Near and far,
For God to keep them safely
Wherever they are,
To fill their hearts with His love,
That nurtures all each day,
To show that hope will better things,
That have gone astray.
These gifts of patience, love and hope
We can always share
Then peace will dwell within our hearts
And banish every care.

Thought For Today

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Thought For Today

The Lord is my strength and my shield, in whom my heart trusted and found help.  So my heart rejoices; with my song I praise God.   {Psalm 28 V 7}

Reach Out For Him {By Anna Lee Winters}

When your days are darkest,
The whole world seems bleak and bare,
Just reach out your hand
And you will find him there.
When you are afraid or lonely,
Need someone to really care,
Just reach out your hand,
And you will find him there.
When your thoughts run rampant,
You think, “Can this be fair?”
Just reach out your hand
And you will find him there.
Although your steps may falter,
As you climb life’s winding stair,
Just reach out your hand
And you will find him there.
And then when you travel on again,
With many years to spare,
Remember, that when you reach out,
He is always there.

Thought For Today

Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you  {Matthew 7 V 7}
