The Judas Touch

This story I am about to tell you happens to be true. I had just started working at a new Establishment an being new an old worker drew me aside to warm me about another worker. This person was on vacation and was due to return to work in a few days. I will call one Sarah and the other Meredith.

Meredith warned me about how terrible Sarah was. She went into detail about the things that Sarah had done to her and to others. She said I should stay far from her and have nothing to do with her. After talking ill about Sarah for almost half an hour her final words to me were “As long as I live I will have nothing to do with her.

Two days later Sarah returned to work. That morning Merdith was in her office and heard Sarah been greeted by someone across the hallway from her. She looked at me and said that’s her and she got up and rushed out. Curious I followed Meredith and watched her as she ran towards Sarah hugged her and said “Sarah I am so happy to see you. Welcome back.

I remember a chill running through by body as the thought this woman is a Judas ran through my head. I looked down at my arms and they were covered in goosebumps. To the day I am always a little wary of people who talk ill about other people.

As it turned out to this day I have found Sarah to be a wonderful, caring individual. In fact the one thing she is guilty of is that she is perhaps a little too kind. You can guess who I stayed far away from…

Rape

The rape of women is viewed almost as a normal part of life by some, so much so that perpetrators will go as far as to record the act.

Just a week ago in Chicago six male most of them teenagers gang raped a fifteen year old girl. Not only did they violate  this girl but they livestream it on Facebook. What is also disturbing is that 40 persons reportedly watched the rape taking place and none of them reported it.

Is this where we are as a society? Is this kind of behavior now the new norm that people would watch a crime like this been committed and see no need to report it.

This also raises another question. How are we raising our children? What kind of values are been instilled in them. We need to work towards having a society where men and boys understand that rape is wrong.

Parents Missing in Action

It is amazing how many men and women fail miserably at the single most important job they will ever have – that of being a parent.

So many do not take their responsibilities seriously or seem to understand their roles. The end result is that you have situations where children are raising themselves and instances where older siblings are forced to take on the responsibilities of caring for the younger one. Is there any wonder that there is a breakdown of moral values in society.

Parents love your children, support your children, make sacrifices for them if sacrifice is required. Be the best parents that you can be. Thumbs up to all the parents who are trying to raise their children right. To the single mothers and fathers nuff respect.

To the parents who don’t seem to give a damn, remember that once a man twice a child. The child that you neglect today may be the one whose help you may need in the future. Stop and take a look at your life. It is never too late to change.

Borrowed Time

The youthful years are gifts from God use them wisely. Do not be like the five foolish virgins who had no oil in their lamps and were caught unprepared.

Some young people live life with no thought of tomorrow and are unprepared for life’s realities. It is all good and well to have fun but you need to know who is going to have your back when the fun is over.

A young man will bounce from woman to woman living the life of a player, forming no roots because he doesn’t understand that nothing lasts forever. It is not about how many women you can sleep with but about finding a woman who is going to be there for the long ride and have your back no matter what. When you find such a woman treat her like the queen she is because the day will come when you can’t play those games. The good looks won’t last forever neither will the sex appeal. In fact the day might come when the only thing you can raise is your hand to put food to your mouth. So don’t go on living careless. Let your life take root.

Young woman don’t buy into the hype that you are beautiful and sexy and can have any man so there is no need for you to settle down. You live to be the life of the party. You want to be the one men lust after. Enjoy the ride while you can because it won’t last forever. Before you know it everything start heading south, old age start creeping in and you are left wondering where did all the years go because for the future you didn’t plan.

So young men and women while you are young and having fun remember that the youthful years are a gift from God and you must use them wisely.

Empowering Women

In many instances  women experience disappointments in relationships. It sometimes come about when trust is broken and loyalty melts away like butter in the heat of the sun.

Commitment these days is rare so invest wisely in your relationship. Give it your all but keep your soul intact. Be that strong woman who will bend but not break should adversity come.

If your relationship is going well don’t go looking for trouble. Do not go making accusations when there are no basis for them. Do not let jealousy rule you, it can destroy what you have. Remember that if a man truly loves you, he will stay by your side no matter what. He will be there for you and you will know his love is real by the way he treats you.

Empowering Women

The time has come for us as women to realize our worth and take responsibility for our lives. We must embrace change when we see that path that we are taking only leads to pain. We must liberate ourselves and become the masters of our own happiness. No one is going to do it for us, we have to do that for ourselves. Happiness is not a privilege, it is our birthright and we must never place it in the hands of those who have no understanding that their role is to add and not take away a woman’s happiness.
