ALONE GIRL is a story about a young girl’s search for identity. Reeling from the rejection of her father Amelia’s journey takes her down a self-destructive path of men and sex. Will Amelia ever be able to leave her past behind?

My reading challenge for 2019 is off to a great start. I started with THE FORGOTTEN HOURS by Katrin Schumann and completed it in three days. I promised to give you a review and here is a brief one.
I gave this book a three star because it did not deliver as I expected it to. The flow of the story was a bit slow. I kept waiting for that exciting moment that never came. The overall theme of the story is clear and relevant in today’s world were so many women have to deal with sexual assaults. The flow would have been better without the use both past and present tense to get the ideas across. The characters were also not well developed, however it was an interesting read.
In my next post I will tell you the current book I am reading.

Life is short don’t be afraid to do what makes you happy!
Years ago when I was much younger reading was my favorite hobby. However I have found myself reading less and less. This year I plan step up on my reading. My goal is to read at least 12 books this year. I consider one book a month an attainable goal considering that there was a time when I was reading a book a day or every two days.
My first book which I already started reading is THE FORGOTTEN HOURS by Katrin Schumann. I don’t know much about this author but I will give you my feedback on the book when I am through.

It is now more than two weeks since the partial government shutdown and like in most situations the ones who played no part in it are those most affected. I am all for border security, most of us are but surely there has to be a better way than to hold the people of this country to ransom.
This obsession with a wall seems to be more of a desire to satisfy Trump’s ego than it is about securing the borders. While the power play continues and the government fail to come to a resolution hard working taxpayers must worry about how they are going to pay their bills. How is this okay? Isn’t ironic that politicians usually say they work for the people and yet in so many situations the people have no say in what they do?
This year I plan to focus a lot more on my writing and promoting my books. I might even ask you guys to give me an honest review on my current work in progress- ALONE GIRL- This is a story of a girl and her struggles as she seeks acceptance of a father who rejects her and tries to find her place in the world.

You want to achieve success but if you keep doing the same things and keep getting the same results it is time to make changes. Some people fear change but often it is necessary to achieve success. So don’t be afraid of change embrace it.
So many of us make New Year Resolutions only to discard them before the year is even half-way through. Setting things down on paper is easy but actually executing them is the hard part. It takes consistency, discipline and determination to see them through. The key is to set reasonable and attainable goals and make a consistent daily effort to work towards those goals.
With determination much can be achieved so lets make 2109 a year of great achievements!
