Dreams and Meanings

Many people have dreams from time to time. But what are dreams really? Is it just the mind at work while we sleep or do they have meanings. Some people believe that messages are often conveyed to us in dreams sometimes however they are not clear enough for us to understand.
J McDonald have tried to explain a number of dreams in his book “Dr. MacDonald’s astrological dream book.”  I will share some of these dreams and their meanings over the next few days. I will be glad to have some feed back if you have dreams similar to these.

Bees and Wasps
One dreaming of being stung by bees, and by wasps particularly, will be the victims
to countless vexations, originating in malice and envy.

Fire

To dream of holding a burning torch or light is a good sign. Young people so doing
will be successful in love, prosperous in business, victorious over enemies and honored and
respected by friends and kinsfolk.

When you dream that you light a fire with difficulty and it goes out, it forewarns hurt,
injury and sorrow to some woman and to the dreamer.

Water
When one dreams of having been given a glass of water, it is a sign of his speedy
marriage. If he dreams the glass to be broken, it predicts the loss of many friends ; if
whole, the contrary.

If a person dreams of scattering water about the house it denotes troubles proportionate to the
quantity scattered.

“The world is a dangerous place to live,
not because of the people who are evil,
but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

 Don’t Pass Me By

He walked with eyes lowered, head to the ground.

When he saw me, he spoke, and I took in his sight.

He was scruffy and raggedy in his eyes was no light.

He said, “Ma’am, I’m hungry.”

He was very polite.

I said to him softly, “No money have I,

but I’ll buy you some food

with these food stamps of mine.”

We walked on in silence, this homeless old man,

and he said, “Give me your number

I’ll pay you back when I can.”

I looked in his eyes, where hopelessness lay,

and I said, “Never mind. I don’t want you to pay.”

As we walked down the aisles of the grocery store,

like a child he picked something, then asked for some more.

I gladly told him to fill all his needs,

because in my lifetime, I’ve done some bad deeds.

I’ll never forget him, as he went on his way,

because he gave me something I can never repay.

He gave me a chance to give what I could,

a chance to show love to the misunderstood…

a chance to feed someone when no one else would…

a chance to be special, a chance to be good.

I’ll ever be grateful to the stranger in rags,

for showing me Love in a few grocery bags,

for letting me be the one who had more,

for letting me answer his knock at my door.

You see, I’m no angel, though I’ve wanted to be.

I’ve hurt many people by just being me,

and this man, this stranger, who did not pass me by,

set free for an instant an angel to fly.

Celebrity Breakups

Celebrity breakups are not uncommon in fact these relationships do not seem to have longevity. For months now there have been rumors that Jay-Z and Beyonce marriage is on the rocks. So far this is said to be nothing more than a rumor. What does not appear as a rumor however is that fact that Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are splitting. Nick Cannon recently confirmed that the marriage is in trouble and that they are no longer living together. He has expressed concerns for their two children.

St Louis Police Shoots Man

I have watched the following video several times looking for something that would make this shooting justified. I have searched to see where these individuals lives were in danger and hence the need for them to shoot this young man. I even took into consideration the fact that they might not have known he was mentally challenged and while others may have a different view point I see no reason why they officers could not have tased him. Why was there a need to shoot to kill?”

The young black man was wrong in stealing the drinks but was this a crime punishable by death? He kept saying shoot me shoot me but did this justify the police killing him even if they did not know he was mentally challenged. What was the point of handcuffing him after pumping him full of bullets. They claimed he had a knife so I have to asked the question are they not trained to take someone with a knife into custody without killing that person? Is not everyone entitled to a fair trial? Should the police be acting as judge, jury and executioner?

Wouldn’t it be Great

Wouldn’t it be great to have a world free from war
Where people spend time building bridges of friendship instead of tearing them apart?
Wouldn’t it be great if people loved and cared for one another
Instead of turning on each other like monsters unleashed from hell?
Wouldn’t it be great if more money was spent on finding cure for diseases and less on building weapons of destruction and death?
Wouldn’t it be great to have a world where the color of one’s skin didn’t matter, where prejudice did not exist and equality was something practiced everywhere?

Inspirational Poem

Things may not always be as bad as we think it is. Sometimes we must take the time to evaluate the situation before jumping to conclusion.

Handwriting on The Wall

A weary mother returned from the store,
Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.
Awaiting her arrival was her 8 year old son,
Anxious to relate what his younger brother had done.
While I was out playing and Dad was on a call,
T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall
It’s on the new paper you just hung in the den.
I told him you’d be mad at having to do it again.
She let out a moan and furrowed her brow,
Where is your little brother right now?
She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride,
She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide.
She called his full name as she entered his room
He trembled with fear–he knew that meant doom
For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved
About the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved.
Lamenting all the work it would take to repair,
She condemned his actions and total lack of care.
The more she scolded, the madder she got,
Then stomped from his room, totally distraught
She headed for the den to confirm her fears.
When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears.
The message she read pierced her soul with a dart.
It said, I love Mommy, surrounded by a heart.
Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it,
With an empty picture frame hung to surround it.
A reminder to her, and indeed to all,
Take time to read the handwriting on the wall.

Are Black Males Endangered Species

Is Equality Feasible

Throughout history inequality has always existed and one race of people hold themselves superior to another. However does this whole concept stem from scientific evidence or just plain stupidity?  The color of one’s skin does not define a man. All men are created the same. One race of people do not possess superior brains or body organs that another do not possess. To say the goods is better because the packaging is different shows ignorance and stupidity.

Ignorant and stupid people we can live with. However when these people are so driven by hate of skin color that a person is hurt or killed just for walking while being black we have a very serious problem. Most serial killers are white males, does this mean every time we look into the face of a white man we see a potential serial killer? There are black men who break the law and yes they commit crimes but does that mean every black man is a criminal?

While we cannot change a person’s thinking and make a stupid person smart those who take the oath to protect must do so without prejudice. They must see people not in terms of skin color but as human beings. They must stop looking through biased lens where they see a white man as a decent citizen and the black man a potential criminal just by looking at their skin color. If you give a mad man a loaded gun a catastrophe is likely to happen. Presently we have power given to biased perhaps even racist law enforcers and catastrophes are taking place.

The killing of young unharmed black male must stop. Law enforcer acting like thugs and beating up on black men must stop. The policy of shoot first and ask question after must stop. Lead by example. There is no need to kill a man unless your own life is in danger. Do not abuse the power you are given, when you do so it makes you no better than the criminals. This is for all law enforcers irrespective of skin color for the black police officer is just as quick to beat up on his own as the white one is. People are people and we must move forward by accepting and respecting one another. Too many black males have already lost their lives unnecessarily. Let good judgement and fairness prevail. Let there be equal rights and justice for all.

THERE IS A  REASON

For every cross we have to bear,

For every heartache, every care,

For disappointments that come our way,

For every dark and gloomy day,

There’s a reason

For every tear that we shed,

For all the dreams that rests unsaid,

For every stone that bruise our feet,

When trudging on the endless streets,

There’s a reason

For every hurt and every pain,

And all the hopes that lived in vain,

For every grief and every plight,

For every lonely hour at night,

There’s a reason

But there is One who understands

Our every ache and every pain,

We must put our trust in Him,

It will not be in vain,

For He knows the reason
