THEFT or MISPLACED FOOD ITEMS??

Jamaican Food Items Goes Missing

A Bronx resident is still baffled about what might have happened to food items sent to a relative in Temple Texas. The food items packed in a USPS box was sent off from the Hillside Station in Bronx on February 18, 2015 for Temple Texas with an expected delivery date of Tuesday February 24th. The package arrived at its destination on Saturday February 28 in the condition seen below.

If you notice one side of the box is missing and held together with tape. This could have been the result of poor handling which of course is not acceptable since the sender made it clear there was perishable item in the box, specifically…a cake. However that was not the worst part, the package arrived with half of the food items missing. Below is a list of the items sent and the items that the recipient received.

Despite reports the sender has been unable to get any answer about the missing items or why the package arrived with other items packed in it that were not a part of the original package.

This package did not go through every post office in the entire United States. Someone somewhere in one of these facilities must know something about what happened to the package and which facility received it in a damaged condition. Forty eight dollars was spent to ship this package. The items were not insured but surely there should be some accountability. This is unacceptable and raises concern about using the US Postal System.
Do you thing this was an accident and the items got misplaced or it was deliberate theft. You be the judge.

Happy New Year

The old year has gone and we welcome the new. It is a new dawn a new beginning another chance to do the things we did not get done in 2014. Let us give God thanks for bringing us thus far and let 2015 be a positive year in all respect. Let us be positive in our thoughts, speech, actions and interactions. I wish for all good health, wealth, success in all your endeavors and a peaceful and productive year.

God Bless you all.

Cops Killed in Brooklyn

It is disheartening to hear of the shooting death of two Police Officers in Brooklyn today Wednesday 20th December.
They were shot execution style while sitting in their vehicle. It is reported that the lone gunman who killed the officers took his own life. We must all condemn this horrendous act. Condolences to the families of these two officers who will not be home for Christmas. It is sad indeed the bloodshed must stop. There is no justification in snuffing out the lives of others.

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Taliban Attack in Pakistan

Joy to the world, Peace on earth and good will to men… Sadly this is not a time of joy or peace for many families in Pakistan. The horror that unfolded on Tuesday is a poignant reminder of the Sandy Hooks shooting in December 2014. What happened in Pakistan is even worse. The onslaught was carried out by people seeking revenge and in the aftermath more that 140 people were killed and of that amount about 130 were children.

It is very sad that people are so heartless in taking the lives of others. We cannot have peace by creating wars. There is no justifying bloodshed and mayhem. The world is a big place and there is room enough for us all to live together in peace and harmony.

Christmas

The spirit Christmas is in the air
It is the season of good cheer
Peace on earth good will to men,
Let all violence and strife end.

The Cure For Hate

Mankind search for the cure for diseases but I say wouldn’t it be great if we found the cure for hate. It is not a disease yet it is so contagious. It rips apart families and lives with a vengeance. Hate knows no compassion. It knows no sense of right or wrong. It creates sadness and pain, it take lives. Those who inflict grief on others because of hate do not seem to understand that every time you take the life of another you do something wrong.

I wish there was a pill those who hate could take to make their hatred go away. I wish there was a vaccine that could give immunity to hate. Wives, mothers, sisters, brothers, men and women at sometime or another have felt the sting of hate. Hate causes mankind to build weapons of destruction and hate forces them to war. They fight and kill each other not realizing that the answer for harmony is love.

Some are so busy hating they after a while they lack the capacity to love. They spew out hate and love diminishes until all they have left is hate. So they treat others the only way they know…with hate! If we could have a no hate day just one day when every man on earth would treat each other with love maybe then mankind would understand the what the world need most is love. Yes I know I am dreaming but it is a nice dream.

Dare to Hope

We all have dreams we dare to hope
In life, when faced with disappointments we have to cope.
We must not give up on dreams or accept defeat
Neither must we lose sight of hope.
When trials come hold on steadfast,
Though the storms rages and flood waters rise high
Never let go hold on to faith and dare to hope,
That someday, someway we will have a better world.

Equality

Give me a world without hate and prejudice
Give me a world where respect for life,
Takes priority over everything else.
Give me a world where people are treated equally.
The sun does not shine on a selected few,
Nor does the rain fall only  for some.
We all come into this world the same way
And when we depart we will all go six feet under.
While we share the same planet and breathe the same air
Let us be mindful of one another.

Race Equality

“Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned, everywhere is war and until there are no longer first-class and second-class citizens of any nation, until the color of a man’s skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes. And until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race, there is war. And until that day, the dream of lasting peace, world citizenship, rule of international morality, will remain but a fleeting illusion to be pursued, but never attained… now everywhere is war.

These words of  Haile Selassie written years ago still rings true today. You could say the more things change the more they remain the same. We cannot tell people what to think but if you have a job to protect then you must do so impartially  and not allow your personal prejudices to cloud your judgement. The justice system is broken and the way forward is to address the cracks in the system so that the laws apply to everyone equally. It is the system that allows a lot of the injustice because those involved know they will not be held accountable for their actions. We need to fix the justice system.
