Goodbye

The sun is still shining, she can’t fathom why
Her life has been shattered in the blink of an eye.
Sorrow engulfs her she tries not to cry,
He declared it was over and bid her goodbye.
A Casanova was he, too late did she see
Hers wasn’t the only chamber where he had to be.
Ostentatious a lover he did fool her so,
When asked if he loved her his answer was no.
Love’s like a viper was the lesson she learned,
Others had felt its sting now it was her turn.
She refused to break down or to respond
with a frown,
So she put on a brave smile and bid him goodbye.
The sun is still shining but now she understands why,
The earth will keep moving, the stars will still shine,
Life isn’t over just because he bid her goodbye.
