Be Humble

Humility is something that not everyone understands. It is not something that you can fake because it comes from the heart. Many of us focus on self and conversations revolves around use of the words I, ME and MY.

We come into the world and when we depart we will not be remembered for how many degrees we have or how lavishly we lived, those things are easily forgotten. It is the selfless acts we do that make a difference in the world that we will be most remembered for. It is the little things we do to help others that enable people to have faith in humanity.

Humility is never self-centered or boastful. People who do good to others often do so from the heart without the thought of getting acknowledged or praised. They do not do so and stand proudly and beat their chests and say I did this or this happened because of me. They do what they do because they see it as the right thing to do. They do so from the heart because they care.

Superstitions and Beliefs

Among Caribbean people there is a long tradition of practices and superstitions. Some people adamantly believe in them and will supply you with stories to prove their point. I am going to share with you some of these beliefs.

1.    If you right palm itches you are going to receive money.

2.    If your left eye jumps you are going to cry.

3. Whatever food a pregnant woman is craving at a given moment, she should be given it immediately,
otherwise the baby will have a birth mark on his/her body which will resemble the food.

4. If you put your handbag on the floor you will never have money.

5. It is bad luck to open an umbrella inside the house

6. If a pregnant woman climbs over a fence her child will be a thief.

7. If you let a child see his or her reflection before they’re two years old they won’t talk.

8. When a child bends over and looks at you from between their legs, it is said that they want another little brother or sister.

9. It’s not good to let the younger daughter marry first; because if there is an older sister not married, she might become a spinster.

10. If you break a mirror you will have seven years of bad luck.

Who Will Find The Cure

First there was AIDS now there is EBOLA and years down the road it will be something else. These diseases are springing up out of nowhere and there are more questions than answers. It is interesting and somewhat ironic that the more drugs and vaccines that come on the market the more diseases we have. Also interesting is the fact that the more money that is pumped into research for a cure for cancer each year, the more we see a rise in cancer patients.

We scratch our heads and wonder why cancer is now so prevalent. The truth is that there are a lot of drugs currently on the market with cancer causing agents. Drug companies of course promote these drugs as having great benefits and downplay the high risk of the users getting cancer.

I strongly believe that a cure can be found for cancer but if we are waiting for big cooperation to find that cure it is not going to happen. Cancer treatment drugs is a multi million dollar business. Drug manufacturing companies and others in the health sector make millions each year treating cancer patients. They are not going to be willing to give that up. If a cure is found it therefore has to be one that will make millions for these drug companies and others involved, anything else is a lost cause.

It is up to the people who really care about finding a cure to do the research and find the cure. A cure that those affected will be able to afford. The trouble is that they are not going to get the big funding that those who are pretending to find a cure are getting. Yet they must not see this as a deterrent. The little people must come together in unity and do the research. They must also be prepared to face roadblock and opposition from those who have something to lose. It is not going to be an easy road but know this one thing, it is up to those who care about lives and not so much the money, to find the cure. Until people realize this we will continue to see increase in the number of cancer cases. As for those man-made diseases such as AIDES and EBOLA ……well that’s a whole different story and I can’t seem to get past the word WHY?

Happy 21st Birthday

My daughter Tresanne celebrates her twenty-first birthday today October 11, 2014. Yes she has reached that milestone the one that many teenagers are thrilled to reach and an age many adults wish they would stay forever (The physical appearance that is).

I am very proud of my daughter for the intelligent, well-rounded young woman that she is. She is a conscientiousness, diligent student who is always striving for excellence. Her hard work has earned her the following awards:

She is celebrating this milestone just weeks before completing her Associates Degree in Science Liberal Arts.This is just the beginning of her journey but I know that her hard work and determination to succeed will get her to her destination.

I wish for her God’s richest blessing as she celebrate this day and wish for her many more years filled with Love, Joy and Happiness. Love you lots!!

 

 

 

Blogging Less

Hi everyone I have not been posting a lot lately as I am currently working on a novel which is now near completion. As soon as I finish the final chapters I will give more detail about the story line. Sorry if I am late in responding to your comments and reading your post but I will try and catch up as soon as possible.

For those interested in dreams and meanings here are a few more.

The Hair

Should anyone dream that while combing the hair it be impossible to pass the comb through by reason of its entanglement, or to experience difficulty in unraveling its knots or kinks, it predicts to the dreamer complicated lawsuits or weeks of anxious toil. But to see the hair and head well combed and dressed, signifies friendship and deliverance from misfortunes.

Should you dream of having hair longer and darker than usual, riches and honor will flow to you. Should one dream of his hair becoming thin and disarranged, it is a sign of affliction and poverty.

The Nose

To dream of having the nose torpid, or stopped up so as to be dead of feeling, fore warns the dreamer of treason on the part of an intimate acquaintance, provided, he who  dreams is a person of importance. To a master or mistress of a house it announces deceit dishonesty among the servants. To an unmarried female it portends her lover’s infidelity, while to a married woman it makes known that some jealous rival will intrigue to rob her of her husband’s affections.

Childbirth

If a woman, not pregnant, dreams of giving birth to a child, it is a sign that she will consummate happily her undertakings; should the dreamer be a maiden, it signifies banquets, rejoicings, dances and nuptials, but sometimes the pains and perils of maternity.

Should you dream of seeing a woman in childbirth, it denotes joy and prosperity to the dreamer.

 WOUNDS

To dream of a person inflicting upon you wounds while in a state of anger, denotes that you will receive benefits at his hands in proportion to the vehemence of his anger and the period of its duration.

Should a woman dream of being wounded, or of wounding another in self-defense, it predicts that she will reap some public honor. Should she assail, in her dream, some man, with intent to wound him, it is a sign, should she be married, that she will give birth to a male child, who will become a soldier or sailor.

Boy Reacts to News of Mothers Pregnancy

This video posted on Thursday August 28 now has more than seven million views and has received mixed reactions. To people like my self it is just an innocent video of an intelligent little boy’s reaction – as children often do – to the news that he is going to have a little brother or sister. Not surprisingly those whose mind cannot allow them to see past skin color has chosen not to see the video for what it is but instead have sought to launch a mean and racial attack on the mother. If only these people would realize that there is no joy to be found in hating others. God is a God of Love. Hate will get us no where.
