Germany Closes Borders

The influx of refugees into Germany might be drastically reduced as the country is closing its borders. Thousands of refugees have already poured into Germany and this new measure will dash the hopes of many more. Security concerns could be part of the reason. The new measures hopefully will bring some pressure on other European Union Member States to do something about the refugee crisis.

  1. It is not closed in general. The borders opened up again this morning. But Germany cannot hold this all alone. There truly must be a solution that more cuntries are involved!

  2. Part of the problem lies in the lack of interest most of the refugees have in entering any but the most wealthy countries with the best benefits. Obviously this is putting a terrible strain on Germany, which at the moment boasts just about the best economy in Europe. It will be interesting to see if, when other poorer countries open their borders, the refugees are willing to go there.
