Riot in Baltimore

The injustice in the America justice system is becoming unbearable. The death of Freddie Gray under questionable circumstances once again highlights the fact that unnecessary force is often used on people of color and a simple arrest can lead to death. Where there is injustice in a nation often times it can lead to strife. However there is no justification for what happened in Baltimore. The burning and looting was not a show of solidarity for Freddie Gray but rather an excuse for thugs to do what they do best. They were not there for a cause but rather to create mayhem which at the end of the day did not help anyone.

The burning of buildings and cars was senseless and uncalled for. You cannot improve the quality of life in your town by destroying it. What I saw was total madness and the worst part of it all is that many of these acts were carried out by youths. Clearly they need guidance and leadership to change their mindset so do not end up like Freddie Gray. I believe the fight for justice must continue in a peaceful and sensible manner. Behaving like thugs will in no way help anyone.

Thumbs up to the mother who disciplined her son. I hope he listens to her and steer on the right path. Once again the fight for justice must go on but in peaceful, and intelligent manner.

  1. You are absolutely right Marva, I hope that these young people can be steered toward the right path. I understand the frustration with issues with this country, but their own neighbors could have been killed or injured and if that happened how would that benefit the cause. Wonderful post with great advice for the people of Baltimore. Let’s hope that they get justice for Freddie Gray. Of course it won’t bring the young man back, but it would certainly show that we care.

  2. It is a sad state of affairs with the miguided youth. I too applaud the mother who out of love and concern for her son got in there and did the right thing. It’s just a shame that the others were left to continue in their senseless destruction. Violence is not and never has been the answer and why people would tear down their own neighborhoods is beyond me.

    1. I agree Stephanae it is stupid and senseless to destroy your town to prove a point. People have to find another way to let their voices be heard.

  3. Such a troubled world which spent far too long helping to make it a better place to be for all people. The country is less than honest about our own flaws and injustices. I hope for us to understand the other point of view and find a path to Peace.
