Natalie Weston left her hometown to escape her cheating boyfriend and the embarrassment of him getting another woman pregnant. The last thing she expected when she arrived at Fletcher’s Cove was to fall in love with the dashing young lawyer Carson Fletcher. “So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” ― Jon Krakauer
In today’s society the emphasis is often on getting a good education. We teach our children that this is important. You got to do well in high school; you have to do well in college, we tell them. However ever so often we don’t tell them how to cope in a world where all is not what it seems to be. We don’t tell them what they should never accept in relationships.
They go out there all dewy eyed and innocent thinking that being in love is nothing short of paradise and they can dive in without even questioning how deep the water is. Let’s have the conversation. Talk to your children about domestic abuse. Let them know that love is not supposed to hurt.
Most of us have dreams from time to time. Sometimes we wonder what the dream means. In the next days I will be sharing with you dreams and meanings according to Dr. MacDonald.
If a woman, not pregnant, dreams of giving birth to a child, it is a sign that she will consume her undertakings. Should the dreamer be a maiden, it signifies banquets, rejoicings, dances and nuptials, but sometimes the pains and perils of maternity.
There is a debate going on about abortion and many have mixed views about it. I do believe that each child that is conceived should be given the chance to experience life. However in certain circumstances such as rape and incest I believe women should have the right to choose what to do. We don’t know the mental and emotional well being of women caught up in these situations. Therefore no one should have the right to make that decision for them. What are your thoughts on this issue?
Enjoyment and peace of mind come when you realize that you are in charge of your happiness. Too often we give other people power over our lives. Too often we sell ourselves short, not realizing our strength, not understanding that life can bend us but we will not be broken.”
In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.
Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear,
but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a
peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder,
the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the
road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.
As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many others never understand.
Too often people complain about situations and yet make no effort to do anything about it
